I'm sure most of you have read or heard about The WNBA's reluctancy to define what a woman is. The WNBA stands for Women's National Basketball Association. So, why is the WNBA, like many other organizations and institutions hesitant to give a clear definition of something that should be so elementary?
This leads me to a few more questions: Why is defining what a woman is controversial? An even greater question is: Why has confusion - especially around sexual and gender identity...increased so dramatically?
Here's my belief: When a person or culture rejects the CREATOR, it will eventually become confused about HIS CREATION.
Therein lies the issue...
When a person or an entire culture rejects God's authority they begin to believe they have the power to create their own truth rather than submit to the Truth God already established.
Thus, becoming separated from Truth itself. I truly believe pride is at the root of this rejection.
Pride is self-focused, independent, and disobedient. The Word of God says in Proverbs 16:18, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall."
With that being said...
At AGHOP, we're going to continue to love people. We're going to continue to share the Gospel with compassion.
**HOWEVER, LOVING PEOPLE DOES NOT RECQUIRE US TO AFFIRM WHAT CONTRADICTS GOD'S WORD!
Jesus was full of GRACE and TRUTH
culture can change...they can even change definitions...BUT GOD'S TRUTH DOES NOT!
Isaiah 40:8 "The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the Word of our God will stand forever."
If standing on God's Truth makes us controversial...
We're okay with that.
