Santo Evangelio según San Lucas 6, 20-26

En aquel tiempo, mirando Jesús a sus díscípulos, les dijo:"Dichosos ustedes los pobres, porque de ustedes es el Reino de Dios. Dichosos ustedes los que ahora tienen hambre, porque serán saciados.Dichosos ustedes los que lloran ahora, porque al fin reirán.

Dichosos serán ustedes cuando los hombres los aborrezcan y los expulsen de entre ellos, y cuando los insulten y maldigan por causa del Hijo del hombre. Alégrense ese día y salten de gozo, porque su recompensa será grande en el cielo. Pues así trataron sus padres a los profetas.

Pero, ¡ay de ustedes, los ricos, porque ya tienen ahora su consuelo! ¡Ay de ustedes, los que se hartan ahora, porque después tendrán hambre! ¡Ay de ustedes, los que ríen ahora, porque llorarán de pena!

¡Ay de ustedes, cuando todo el mundo los alabe, porque de ese modo trataron sus padres a los falsos profetas!".

Raising his eyes toward his disciples Jesus said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for the kingdom of God is yours.
Blessed are you who are now hungry, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who are now weeping, for you will laugh.
Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude and insult you, and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man.
Rejoice and leap for joy on that day! Behold, your reward will be great in heaven. For their ancestors treated the prophets in the same way.
But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation.
But woe to you who are filled now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will grieve and weep.
Woe to you when all speak well of you, for their ancestors treated the false prophets in this way.

Genealogía de Jesucristo, hijo de David, hijo de Abraham:
Abraham fue padre de Isaac; Isaac, padre de Jacob; Jacob, padre de Judá y de sus hermanos.
Judá fue padre de Fares y de Zará, y la madre de estos fue Tamar. Fares fue padre de Esrón;
Esrón, padre de Arám; Arám, padre de Aminadab; Aminadab, padre de Naasón; Naasón, padre de Salmón.
Salmón fue padre de Booz, y la madre de este fue Rahab. Booz fue padre de Obed, y la madre de este fue Rut. Obed fue padre de Jesé;
Jesé, padre del rey David. David fue padre de Salomón, y la madre de este fue la que había sido mujer de Urías.
Salomón fue padre de Roboám; Roboám, padre de Abías; Abías, padre de Asá;
Asá, padre de Josafat; Josafat, padre de Jorám; Jorám, padre de Ozías.
Ozías fue padre de Joatám; Joatám, padre de Acaz; Acaz, padre de Ezequías;
Ezequías, padre de Manasés. Manasés fue padre de Amón; Amón, padre de Josías;
Josías, padre de Jeconías y de sus hermanos, durante el destierro en Babilonia.
Después del destierro en Babilonia: Jeconías fue padre de Salatiel; Salatiel, padre de Zorobabel;
Zorobabel, padre de Abiud; Abiud, padre de Eliacím; Eliacím, padre de Azor.
Azor fue padre de Sadoc; Sadoc, padre de Aquím; Aquím, padre de Eliud;
Eliud, padre de Eleazar; Eleazar, padre de Matán; Matán, padre de Jacob.
Jacob fue padre de José, el esposo de María, de la cual nació Jesús, que es llamado Cristo.
Este fue el origen de Jesucristo: María, su madre, estaba comprometida con José y, cuando todavía no habían vivido juntos, concibió un hijo por obra del Espíritu Santo.
José, su esposo, que era un hombre justo y no quería denunciarla públicamente, resolvió abandonarla en secreto.
Mientras pensaba en esto, el Angel del Señor se le apareció en sueños y le dijo: "José, hijo de David, no temas recibir a María, tu esposa, porque lo que ha sido engendrado en ella proviene del Espíritu Santo.
Ella dará a luz un hijo, a quien pondrás el nombre de Jesús, porque él salvará a su Pueblo de todos sus pecados".
Todo esto sucedió para que se cumpliera lo que el Señor había anunciado por el Profeta:
La Virgen concebirá y dará a luz un hijo a quien pondrán el nombre de Emanuel, que traducido significa: "Dios con nosotros".

The Book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Abraham became the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers.
Judah became the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar. Perez became the father of Hezron, Hezron the father of Ram,
Ram the father of Amminadab. Amminadab became the father of Nahshon, Nahshon the father of Salmon,
Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab. Boaz became the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth. Obed became the father of Jesse,
Jesse the father of David the king. David became the father of Solomon, whose mother had been the wife of Uriah.
Solomon became the father of Rehoboam, Rehoboam the father of Abijah, Abijah the father of Asaph.
Asaph became the father of Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat the father of Joram, Joram the father of Uzziah.
Uzziah became the father of Jotham, Jotham the father of Ahaz, Ahaz the father of Hezekiah.
Hezekiah became the father of Manasseh, Manasseh the father of Amos, Amos the father of Josiah.
Josiah became the father of Jechoniah and his brothers at the time of the Babylonian exile.
After the Babylonian exile, Jechoniah became the father of Shealtiel, Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,
Zerubbabel the father of Abiud. Abiud became the father of Eliakim, Eliakim the father of Azor,
Azor the father of Zadok. Zadok became the father of Achim, Achim the father of Eliud,
Eliud the father of Eleazar. Eleazar became the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob,
Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Of her was born Jesus who is called the Messiah.
Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with child through the holy Spirit.
Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man, yet unwilling to expose her to shame, decided to divorce her quietly.
Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her.
She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel, which means "God is with us."

+ Lectura del santo evangelio según san Lucas (6, 6-11)

Un sábado, Jesús entró en la sinagoga y se puso a enseñar. Había allí un hombre que tenía la mano derecha paralizada. Los escribas y fariseos estaban acechando a Jesús para ver si curaba en sábado y tener así de qué acusarlo.

Pero Jesús, conociendo sus intenciones, le dijo al hombre de la mano paralizada: "Levántate y ponte ahí en medio". El hombre se levantó y se puso en medio. Entonces Jesús les dijo: "Les voy a hacer una pregunta: ¿Qué es lo que está permitido hacer en sábado: el bien o el mal, salvar una vida o acabar con ella?" Y después de recorrer con la vista a todos los presentes, le dijo al hombre: "Extiende la mano". El la extendió y quedó curado.

Los escribas y fariseos se pusieron furiosos y discutían entre sí lo que le iban a hacer a Jesús.

On a certain sabbath Jesus went into the synagogue and taught, and there was a man there whose right hand was withered.
The scribes and the Pharisees watched him closely to see if he would cure on the sabbath so that they might discover a reason to accuse him.
But he realized their intentions and said to the man with the withered hand, "Come up and stand before us." And he rose and stood there.
Then Jesus said to them, "I ask you, is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?"
Looking around at them all, he then said to him, "Stretch out your hand." He did so and his hand was restored.
But they became enraged and discussed together what they might do to Jesus.

Un sábado, Jesús iba
atravesando unos sembrados
y sus discípulos arrancaban
espigas al pasar, las restregaban
entre las manos y se comían los
granos. Entonces unos fariseos
les dijeron: “¿Por qué hacen
lo que está prohibido hacer
en sábado?”
Jesús les respondió: “¿Acaso
no han leído lo que hizo David
una vez que tenían hambre él y
sus hombres? Entró en el templo
y tomando los panes sagrados,
que sólo los sacerdotes podían
comer, comió de ellos y les dio
también a sus hombres”.
Y añadió: “El Hijo del hombre
también es dueño del sábado”.

While Jesus was going through a field of grain on a sabbath, his disciples were picking the heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands, and eating them.
Some Pharisees said, "Why are you doing what is unlawful on the sabbath?"
Jesus said to them in reply, "Have you not read what David did when he and those (who were) with him were hungry?
(How) he went into the house of God, took the bread of offering, which only the priests could lawfully eat, ate of it, and shared it with his companions."
Then he said to them, "The Son of Man is lord of the sabbath.

+ Lectura del santo evangelio según san Lucas (5, 33-39)

En aquel tiempo, los fariseos y los escribas le preguntaron a Jesús: “¿Por qué los discípulos de Juan ayunan con frecuencia y hacen oración, igual que los discípulos de los fariseos, y los tuyos, en cambio, comen y beben?”

Jesús les contestó: “¿Acaso pueden ustedes obligar a los invitados a una boda a que ayunen, mientras el esposo está con ellos? Vendrá un día en que les quiten al esposo, y entonces sí ayunarán”.

Les dijo también una parábola: “Nadie rompe un vestido nuevo para remendar uno viejo, porque echa a perder el nuevo, y al vestido viejo no le queda el remiendo del nuevo. Nadie echa vino nuevo en odres viejos, porque el vino nuevo revienta los odres y entonces el vino se tira y los odres se echan a perder. El vino nuevo hay que echarlo en odres nuevos y así se conservan el vino y los odres. Y nadie, acabando de beber un vino añejo, acepta uno nuevo, pues dice: ‘El añejo es mejor’”.

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 5,33-39.

The scribes and Pharisees said to Jesus, "The disciples of John the Baptist fast often and offer prayers, and the disciples of the Pharisees do the same ; but yours eat and drink."
Jesus answered them, "Can you make the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them?
But the days will come, and when the bridegroom is taken away from them, then they will fast in those days."
And he also told them a parable. "No one tears a piece from a new cloak to patch an old one. Otherwise, he will tear the new and the piece from it will not match the old cloak.
Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be ruined.
Rather, new wine must be poured into fresh wineskins.
(And) no one who has been drinking old wine desires new, for he says, 'The old is good.
