The current parish is made up of the merged parishes of Sacred Heart and St. Weekend Masses: Saturday 4:00 PM
Sunday 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 AM
Weekday Masses: Mon, Tues, Wed & Fri. 8:00 AM
Confessions: Saturday 2:30-3:30 PM or by appointment
Holy Hour: Monday 6-7:00 PM

From the Pastor’s Desk

Enjoy your Labor Day weekend! Don’t worry if you cannot make it to all the Labor Day sales for cars, mattresses, pools, spas, driveway sealant, and/or clothing. The Columbus Day sales will start on Tuesday!

We rush too much and we make work out of relaxing! Slow down and find some time to enjoy the company of friends and family as we set aside the work routine and hopefully find the courage to let go of our cell phones and devices to actually encounter another person or other people. Are your children spending more time with their teachers and coaches than with you? Are you spending more time at work than at home? This weekend is your excuse to slow down (maybe even stop) and do the labor of nurturing your relationships.

In the second reading this weekend, St. Paul reminds the Christians in Rome 2000 years ago and the Christians in Suffield/West Suffield today, that the greatest commandment is to love God above all else and our neighbor as ourselves. Take the time this weekend to labor as a true disciple of Jesus Christ. Work on putting God first and being open to God’s love and mercy in your heart. Do the labor of loving and forgiving to strengthen your relationships with others. That is the true and only meaningful labor of a follower of Christ.
