I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (‭‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2‬‬:‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

Why would we die to ourselves when everything in this life tells us to live for ourselves?

Jesus calls us to lay down our lives. When we do this we become the version of ourselves that we were meant to be. It is this death of self that actually brings LIFE! Life in Christ takes us beyond ourselves into a life that God can use; a life of faith in a God who loves us and a God who gave himself up for us. Our life isn’t about what we can do for God, but what God has already done for us.

Die to yourself because he loves you and gave himself up for you!🤍

“And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him.”’ (‭‭‭Mark‬ ‭16‬‬:‭6‬‬‬)

The cross meant to kill is our victory. He made a way for us to live with Him forever.
Thank you Jesus!

•Good Friday•

This is the day Jesus died for our sins willingly by crucifixion as the ultimate sacrifice. He took on the punishment meant for us.

There was betrayal. Arrest. Trial. Denial.
He was mocked. Beaten. Stripped. Insulted.

— innocent. He was innocent and spotless. Nailed to the cross by crossed feet and outstretched hands. Hours of agony passed, and he cried out, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do”‭‭(Luke‬ ‭23‬:‭34‬) praying mercy for His enemies rather than himself.

“It is finished.” Jesus bowed his head and submitted to his Father’s will, giving up his spirit into the hands of his Father; freely laying down the precious life of his which no man could take away from him.

We call Good Friday “good” because we know the end of the story, and we know that his death isn’t it.

Sunday is coming.

“But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” (‭‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

Yesterday, ladies from Success FBC and First Baptist Church Corning enjoyed getting together for Refresh, a Women’s conference held at Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

Here are some Key Takeaways from our speakers:

🌷 No one’s suffering is insignificant.

🌷 In the midst of suffering, my God is sovereign.

🌷 The goodness of God is His Being, not His doing.
No matter what He does, he’s always good. Even if He never does another thing for me, He’s already done it all.

🌷 We should be…
Authentic with all
Transparent with some
Intimate with few
Suffering is never meant to be endured alone.

🌷 He’s not just a historical figure, He’s the living God.

🌷 God restores the dead to life, nothing is beyond His power.

In order for iron to be sharpened, it needs something just as strong. The strength of one person in the Lord has the ability to be a sanctifying tool in the life of another. Friendship is one of the tools that the Lord will use to sanctify us!! There is everlasting value in a friendship that is strong in the faith🤍

Let’s encourage each other, cheer each other on, and sharpen each other emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” (‭‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭27‬‬:‭17‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

A couple married at the church altar.

A child baptized.

A youth group engaged in activities that look more like entertainment than serious discipleship activities.

Why are these small beginnings so significant? Because God brings great things out of small beginnings. He is the still small voice that we hear. Matthew 13 encourages us to have faith and patience in the small beginnings. Although small, in God’s hands they have the potential to grow so large as to shift the world on its axis.
