We were reminded that joy in God isn’t a luxury—it’s fuel for the fight. Life may not always be easy, but God is always good. When we keep our eyes on Him, we find strength to keep going, even in the hardest seasons.

What if it’s something we’re actually called to pursue—and something that gives us strength when life gets hard?

This Sunday, we’re continuing our series “Beholding and Becoming: Finding Our Greatest Joy in God” with a message titled “Delighting in God.”

We’ll look at what it means to truly find our greatest joy and satisfaction in Him—not just going through the motions, but learning to delight in the One who is always good, even when life isn’t.

What a powerful reminder we received this Sunday: we become like what we behold.

If we constantly behold our circumstances, our fears, our problems, or even ourselves, they can begin to feel bigger than they really are. But when we behold the majesty of God, everything else begins to fall into its proper place.

Psalm 104:1 says, “O Lord my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty.”

God is not simply impressive—He is infinitely worthy of our awe, our attention, our worship, and our lives. There is no one and nothing that can compare to Him.

And the beautiful truth is that beholding His greatness doesn’t just make us feel small. It draws us closer to the One our souls were made to enjoy. In His presence there is fullness of joy.

So how do we respond?

We come low in humility, and we rise in praise.
We remove the thoughts that shrink God.
We compare Him with the things competing for our awe.
And we make beholding Him a daily practice.

Because when we behold Him, we become people who are humble in spirit, steady in suffering, free in worship, and satisfied in Him.

May we leave this Sunday with our eyes lifted higher—not toward ourselves or our circumstances, but toward a God who is infinitely majestic. 🙌

There is no one like our God.
