Some people are just meant to teach. ❤️

Mrs. Busse connected with every single kid and every single adult in the room. She noticed everyone. She held up their work, celebrated their ideas and somehow made each person feel like what they created mattered.

At 90 years old, she is truly one of the best art teachers I’ve ever encountered. I learned just as much from watching her teach as the kids did.

St. Joseph’s 7th graders joined the seniors at St. Luke’s to create a Story Quilt, and watching these two generations create together was pretty special. There was so much laughter, encouragement and conversation around the tables. No one cared who was 12 and who was 90. They were just making art together.

We went there to create a Story Quilt and came home having learned a whole lot more. ❤️
