🎒📚 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! ❤️
Before our students ever walked through the doors of their schools, we wanted them to know one thing: they are covered in prayer.
Sunday at Mercy Church, our church family gathered around our students and prayed over them as they begin a brand-new school year. We prayed for protection, wisdom, courage, good friendships, kind hearts, and opportunities to be a light for Jesus wherever they go.
But one of our favorite moments was watching our kids find their own little “place” of prayer. 🥹 They prayed for their school year, their teachers, their classmates, and themselves.
Because we don’t just want our kids to know that adults are praying for them—we want to teach them that they can pray, too. 🙏
Today, as backpacks are zipped, classrooms fill up, and another school year begins, we’re still praying:
Lord, go before them. Walk beside them. Give them courage to stand for what is right, kindness for the one who needs a friend, wisdom as they learn, and confidence to know they are never alone.
To every student, teacher, administrator, bus driver, aide, cafeteria worker, and school employee beginning a new year today—we’re praying for you!
Go shine bright, Mercy Kids! 🌟
