Stillness isn’t easy, but it may be one of the greatest weapons you have against anxious thoughts. Instead of letting your mind keep rehearsing fear, pause long enough to remember who God is. His presence changes the pattern.

When everything feels chaotic, you don’t need to spiral, you need to remember who you are.
You are accepted, secure, and significant because you belong to God, and that truth steadies everything else in your life.

“You are no longer a slave, but God’s child.” Galatians 4:7

Even if God doesn’t answer our prayers the way we want...
Even if we don’t feel like giving thanks...
Even if it all seems incredibly unfair...
We can praise Him.

🎒📚 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! ❤️

Before our students ever walked through the doors of their schools, we wanted them to know one thing: they are covered in prayer.

Sunday at Mercy Church, our church family gathered around our students and prayed over them as they begin a brand-new school year. We prayed for protection, wisdom, courage, good friendships, kind hearts, and opportunities to be a light for Jesus wherever they go.

But one of our favorite moments was watching our kids find their own little “place” of prayer. 🥹 They prayed for their school year, their teachers, their classmates, and themselves.

Because we don’t just want our kids to know that adults are praying for them—we want to teach them that they can pray, too. 🙏

Today, as backpacks are zipped, classrooms fill up, and another school year begins, we’re still praying:

Lord, go before them. Walk beside them. Give them courage to stand for what is right, kindness for the one who needs a friend, wisdom as they learn, and confidence to know they are never alone.

To every student, teacher, administrator, bus driver, aide, cafeteria worker, and school employee beginning a new year today—we’re praying for you!

Go shine bright, Mercy Kids! 🌟

There is a real battle happening, and it isn’t just physical or emotional, it’s spiritual. The enemy is the father of lies, but our God is stronger. Ask Him to expose every lie you’ve believed and replace it with truth.

“When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44

🌱 MERCY CHURCH WENT TO GROW LEADER!

We believe a healthy church never stops learning. That’s why we’re committed to investing in our leaders, strengthening our church, and continually asking, “How can we serve our community better?”

For us, attending conferences like GROW LEADER is about learning, being stretched, and bringing home principles and ideas that can help us better serve the people God has placed right here in Patrick County.

We’re excited to take what we learned and put it to work right here at home. 💙

The best is still ahead for Mercy Church!

Paul called shipwrecks, prison, and beatings “light and momentary” because he saw them through the lens of eternity. Hope in heaven didn’t remove his suffering, it changed his perspective. When eternity becomes bigger than today, fear becomes smaller.

“This light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory.” 2 Corinthians 4:17–18

Striving and numbing are two sides of the same coin - both reveal we’re looking for worth somewhere other than Jesus. Underneath all of it is our deep need to be known and unconditionally loved. Only Jesus can offer us the love we are all searching for.

“Your steadfast love is better than life.” (Psalm 63:3)
