Last Sunday, our By Teens, For Teens Faith Mentors, along with Fathers Kevin and Joe, Linda Zvoncheck and Elizabeth Micketo, helped begin the second year of preparation for our Eighth Grade Confirmation candidates during their retreat. We’re grateful for the witness of our teens to our candidates! Please keep our Eighth Graders in your prayers as they prepare to receive Confirmation in May with Bishop Woost.

Members of our BTFT have been working recently on address planters for our parish’s work with Habitat for Humanity. At this evening’s “Tuesday at Joe’s” the second annual awarding of Sam Lupica Volunteer Service Award was made to Albert, who was joined by Kaitlyn, our inaugural winner for the presentation. In order to honor the memory of Sam Lupica, an award will be given yearly to a Faith Mentor in By Teens For Teens who volunteers regularly in a manner that is not self-promoting. This award will be distributed yearly and the recipient will be selected by the youth minister and the Pastor. We had a special weekend for our Faith Formation Programs at Noon Mass! First, we commissioned those High School Faith Mentors who were able to attend Mass and we received a $2,100 gift from the Strongsville Knights of Columbus from their Measure-Up Campaign for our Special Needs Faith Formation Program. We are grateful for our teens and all who have supported the work of the Knights throughout our city. Thanks and blessings to all!

While our experience of COVID-19 has disrupted the normal routine of school, we can look forward in hope to a new school year and a return to some normal routines come fall.
