Nothing Just Happens!

If you feel like nothing is happening in your life, remember—nothing just happens for no reason. Life is designed so that when we step outside of God’s will, the enemy gains access through poor decisions and lack of wisdom. I’m not talking about a one-time event, because it rains on the just and the unjust (Matthew 5:45). I’m talking about a series of crazy, unusual negative things happening over and over in your life, and you’ve just accepted it as normal or even as God's will.

Before I was a Christian, many unbelievers would chalk up the weird, negative events in my life to "bad luck." But when I started serving God, random people suddenly started saying that all the unusual good things happening to me were just "good luck." Isn’t that something?

The Job Experience

Look at Job—he was declared perfect (Job 1:1), and his experience was a unique situation that teaches us to praise God unconditionally, no matter what. Job’s trials were not random; they were a specific, extraordinary test of faith for a perfect man. But remember, the story of Job isn’t the standard for Christians. God has so much more for us. Job’s situation was unique, and while his trials showed us the importance of maintaining faith under extreme pressure, God desires us to live victorious lives, not to stay in constant suffering! In fact, after Job’s intense trials, God blessed him with double for his trouble (Job 42:10). ā€œI have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.ā€ (John 10:10)

I’m Overqualified to Speak on This...

I’m overqualified to speak on this—I’ve served Satan at a high level before I knew Jesus, and now I serve Jesus with my whole heart. I’ve experienced both sides, and I can give you my expert opinion: while there are challenges in following God, it’s infinitely easier to obey Him and stay in His will than to live in rebellion.

I’ve gone through wild spiritual battles as a Christian, but trust me, they are peanuts compared to the battles I faced serving Satan. The unnecessary pain and suffering of living outside of God’s will doesn’t even compare. Since I’ve been saved, I have never seen a battle where God didn’t bring me out on top and bless my socks off at the end! God is faithful every time.

If You Feel Like Nothing’s Happening...

So, if you’re a Christian and feel like nothing is happening in your life, that may be the biggest testimony that you’re doing something right! ā€œLet us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.ā€ (Galatians 6:9)

If nothing is happening, it’s not by chance. God’s hand is upon you! He’s protecting you, dispatching angels to watch over you, keeping you from accidents and shielding you from the enemy’s attacks. The Lord Himself promises: ā€œNo weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn.ā€ (Isaiah 54:17)

You’re not stuck; you’re standing in the will of God. Trust Him, because ā€œHe who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.ā€ (Philippians 1:6)

In Christ,
