In 1 Thesslonians 2:17 Paul says "when we were orphaned by being seperated from you for a short time (in person, not in thought), out of our intense longing we made every effort to see you."
That has kind of been the feeling over the last few weeks with our church services, Bible Studies, Faithworks, and so much more. We have great news our efforts have paid off and we are looking forward to meeting at our regular times in our usual places.
Hope you can join us Sunday for Sunday school at 10:00 and morning worship at 11:00. And yes we will be having services at the church! Added bonus Pastor Dad will be with us to share the message God has given him. Longing to see you there!

Good Friday Morning Everyone! Please take notice and get the word out.
Isaiah 43:19 says "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not preceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
This is definitely a new thing! We will be meeting for Sunday School and Church at our regular times this coming Sunday at the event room at the White Elephant. We will not be meeting at the church. Hope you can join us as we worship the same God in a different location! See you there!

Good morning everyone, When I was a child I used to wake up on snowy mornings and listen to the radio (dating myself) and see if school was cancelled. When it was there would be great celebration for we were about to experience a "snow day". A snow day was special because beyond the fact that there was no school it also meant the possibilities were endless. These days there is no waiting around a radio to see if school has been cancelled when I awake to snow. However, on these Sundays when I awake to snow I sense that old familiar feeling I had as a child when I get to pronounce "It is a snow Sunday!" I think it is probably because it means that just as a child the possibilities are endless. Some will need to stay home while still others will slip and slide their way to church. We will meet and worship together in a way that seems different then other Sundays and yet we marvel at how God always shows up in a special way.
This morning we will be watching a sermon that Dr. James Diehl preached just a few short days before his passing. As our General Superintendent I can remember times when I had the privelege to hear him speak at conventions and retreats. This message was sent to me by a friend after his passing and to be honest caused me to laugh, be challenged and cry as I listened.
I pray that on this snow day as you watch that the Holy Spirit would move similarly in your life as well. That you will yeild to him as he pulls some stumps in your life. It is a snow Day with endless possibilities!

The Season, The Reason

One of my followers recently asked me to create an image of a Christmas tree and a cross together, showing that He is the reason for the season. This type of image has been done before, so I almost declined....but I do realize that we all need this reminder. The holiday season can be so busy that we forget to take a moment and reflect on the Lord.. I hope that this simple image is a good encouragement for us all.

And yes, I know I'll get lit up in the comments for even making an image like this. But in my view, any time we can encourage others to stop and pause and worship the King, then its a worthy cause.

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)

"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:11)

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change." (James 1:17)
