Msgr Mooney Council 13228 Knights of Columbus Council 13228 is a parish based council - http://msgrmooneycouncil13228.weebly.com/ The Msgr. Thomas Mooney Council 13228 was chartered in 2002 at St. by Msgr.

Ambrose Church in Bridgeport, CT. The Council took it's name from the founding pastor of the parish, Msgr. Thomas Mooney. When the parish closed the council was welcomed to our current location at Our Lady of Grace parish in Stratford, CT. Schultz, who was also a member of the knights, as is Msgr. Ryan, our current Chaplain and an active member who attends meetings regularly. Members are Ushers, Extraordinary Ministers, Lectors, CCD Instructors and more. We're fathers, brothers, sons, uncles and friends trying to strengthen our families, parish and community. We strongly support the parish Religious Education program, and have an ongoing Food For Families program supporting the Daughters of Charity food bank as well as assisting Sterling House Girl Scout troop's food program. We've hosted the parish's annual Church Picnic since moving into Our Lady of Grace as well as a monthly Country Breakfast and annual Breakfast with Santa. Some other things we do:
Sacramental Gift Progam which provides regocnition to all who are baptized, receive 1st communion, confirmation or marry in our parish. Support a local seminarian
Host an annual Free Ice Cream Family Week Social
Help those in the parish with "Food Insecurity"

In fact, wherever you see parish activity, chances are there is a knight presence. You see us all the time, although you may not know we are members of the knights. We continue to look for ways to grow our support of the parish and by extension, our community. We have a very active membership and are always looking for men who would like to work "shoulder to shoulder" with us so we may continue to strengthen these programs and do more. Membership is open to all practical (practicing) Catholic men 18 years old or older. Meetings are held monthly on the 2nd Monday and begin at 7:30 p.m.

This coming Sunday, September 13 we’re hosting the Annual Parish Picnic, and there’s a lot of excitement and enthusiasm among parishioners for this annual event once again hosted by the council so I expect there will be a good turn-out! And your help is needed!!

Set up will take place Saturday, September 12while the Food Drive is taking place. With bingo successfully up and running again, many tables and chairs need to be taken down and the room set up properly - and conversely - set back in place after the picnic.

The kitchen also needs set-up and Jerry will lead that charge, as well as coordinating the cooking the day of the picnic.

Volunteers for the picnic should arrive by 11:30 on Sunday - please plan your mass attendance accordingly. Lot’s of volunteers will be needed before, during and following the picnic!!

Women of Grace will be coordinating games throughout the day of the picnic.

I know I can count on you to help make this event one of our best picnics ever! If for some reason you are unable to “work” the picnic, please consider supporting it with your attendance and that of family and friends!!

Council 13228 is sponsoring our 1st Annual Car Show Saturday, September 26. Do you have a beauty like this one to enter? Or do you prefer to just walk around and admire the way cars could,... and should still be made?

That's what I was doing at the time this photo was taken, I was just walking around Port Jefferson and came across this beauty. Unfortunately she isn't mine.

Either way, Saturday, September 26th is the day you want to be a part of it all at our 1st Annual Car Show at Our Lady of Grace parish in Stratford.

I want to thank everyone for your help hosting our Annual Family Ice-Cream Social last night. .A special "Thank You" to the Women of Grace who provided some activities for the children of all ages, visit this link in comments and you'll see what for yourself!

I wish I had taken more photos but I was too busy enjoying everyone's company.

Including those who worked the event approximately forty people, including about seven children attended.

The council always hosts this hour free to the parish and wider community. It's one small way we as a council celebrate and recognize the importance of the family, and we always host it in August in honor of our founder Blessed Michael J. McGivney who did all he could to help strengthen families.

His birthday is August 12, his Feast Day is Agust 13 and the anniversary of his death is Thursday, August 14.

Blessed McGivney, pray for us!
