✨ Experience the "Divine Dance" This Trinity Sunday ✨

Join us this Sunday at 10:00 AM for a unique, multi-sensory Trinity Sunday service at the United Church of Strafford. This Sunday, we are exploring the profound theological concept of perichoresis—the mutual indwelling and communal "divine dance" of the Triune God.

Through an immersive blend of theological reflection, live music, contemporary dance, and poetry, our worship will unfold in three distinct movements:

Creator: Honoring the source of all life.
Redeemer: Reflecting on grace, renewal, and love.
Sustainer: Celebrating the enduring breath of the Spirit.

We are thrilled to feature exceptional guest artistry to help bring this mystery to life. Acclaimed musician Annemieke McLane will provide the morning's instrumentation, interwoven with powerful movement from contemporary dancer Taylor Barnes. Come move, reflect, and worship with us as we experience the relational heartbeat of the Divine!

Celebrate Pentecost and Holy Communion with us this Sunday at 10:00 AM! 🔥✨

Join us at the United Church of Strafford for a powerful service as we celebrate this sacred day. This week, the sermon is titled "The Symphony of the Spirit." 🎶

We will explore how the Holy Spirit shatters the status quo. God does not demand forced uniformity or that we all speak the language of the empire. Instead, Pentecost is a divine protest against the erasure of our differences. True unity in the Kingdom of God is a "Deep Harmony"—where every unique voice, culture, and life experience is needed to hear the full heart of God. Come learn what it means to "listen in tongues" as a posture of heart-led solidarity, dismantling the walls that divide us.

Following the message, we will gather around the table to share in the sacrament of Holy Communion. Everyone is welcome, exactly as you are.

This Sunday at 10am at the United Church of Strafford, we gather at a powerful intersection of faith and action. As we celebrate the Ascension, we won’t just be looking up at the clouds; we will be looking at our own hands and hearts. Drawing on the profound wisdom of Black Feminist Theology and the "Lifting as We Climb" mandate of Mary Church Terrell, we will explore how our spiritual rising is inseparable from our communal responsibility. Through the womanist ethics of Dr. Emilie M. Townes, we will challenge the "shadow stories" of our world and ignite a "deep walking hope"—a hope that puts on its shoes and gets to work. Come prepared to be empowered, to reach out to your neighbor, and to ask yourself: How can I let my life speak?

Join us this Sunday at 10:00 AM at the United Church of Strafford for Story Sunday! 📖✨ Our theme this week is "Ways We Worship."

Here is a look at what we have planned:

Storytelling: A Faith & Play story from the Quaker tradition about listening to the Spirit.

Singing: Joyful favorites including "All God’s Critters Got a Place in the Choir" and "Peace Like a River."

Reading: Lailah's Lunchbox—a beautiful story about a young Muslim girl navigating Ramadan in a new country.

Reflection: A five-senses meditation followed by a time for open sharing and prayer.

Story Sundays are specially organized to support intergenerational worship. People of all ages are invited to bring your inner child and engage in the transformative and spiritual practice of play. We sing songs, watch puppet shows, and read stories on fundamental spiritual and moral topics.

All are Welcome!

Join us this Sunday, April 26th at 10am for a different kind of Good Shepherd Sunday. We’re reclaiming this ancient image through the wisdom of organic farmer Rosamund Young and the philosophy of Lao Tzu.

We’ll be diving into:
🔹 The history of "the Devil’s rope" and an Economy of Solidarity.
🔹 Protecting our "green pastures" in the face of the climate crisis.
🔹 Finding joy in the middle of life’s messes.
🔹 Unlearning "worthiness" scripts to find the pulse of the Spirit.

Come as you are, enjoy the music of the Canternote musicians, and celebrate the distinct personalities that make our "flock" beautiful. See you there! 🎶✨

Please join us at 10am for a Seeking the Spirit Sunday at the United Church of Strafford! John Freitag will share with us his message titled "Conscientious Objection: The Choice of a Lifetime." John, who became a Conscientious Objector and did two years of civilian service during the Vietnam War, will describe how in a time of great turmoil in our country, he came to the decision to apply to be a CO, what he did for service and how it has shaped his life from then to today. Given the current state of the world, John's story has relevance for us today. Music provided by Erik Reimanis will consist of songs of that time. All are welcome!
