Ma Avarech (with what shall I bless him) was written by Rachel Shapira in memory of her classmate, Eldad Krook, who died in the Six Day War. This song is often sung at memorials on Yom HaZikaron - Israel’s Memorial Day.
May we remember and honor all those who have fought and sacrificed to keep Israel safe from her enemies.

Especially during these challenging times, when forces in Israel are looking to curtail democracy and democratic institutions, it is even more important to remember the ideals and visions of the founding mothers and fathers. Let us hope that Israel remains true to those ideals as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of her independence.
