In Loving Memory of Upasika, Chitranganie Rajapakshe
We honor the life and memory of Chitranganie Rajapakshe, a truly devoted and genuine Upasika who dedicated her heart to the Georgia Buddhist Vihara.

Known for her charming and gentle nature, she served the Vihara and the Monks with a quiet, selfless devotion. Whenever there was a need—whether preparing Dana or supporting community events—she silently stepped forward, embracing every opportunity to ensure each ceremony was a success. She practiced the Dhamma wholeheartedly, embodying true generosity and mindfulness in everything she did.

She passed away in peace, surrounded by the loving care of her daughter, Dr. Niroshi, who took full responsibility for her comfort and well-being.

Having accumulated enormous merits throughout her life, may she enjoy the highest blessings of her good Kamma.

May she attain the blissful state of Nibbana.

We are overjoyed to share that this year's Youth Retreat at the Georgia Buddhist Vihara was a wonderful success!
Thirty bright young participants joined us for an enriching journey, spending 3 nights and 4 days residing within the peaceful Vihara premises.

It is with great pride and joy that we announce a significant milestone for one of our dedicated youth leaders, Thevin Jayawardena, a Senior at Milton High School and the founder of the "Connecting Our Community" project.
Through his untiring work and dedication, Thevin successfully led the volunteer project to install our new VoIP phone system, modernizing our temple’s communications and ensuring we stay better connected with all of you. https://www.gavihara.org/2025/10/connecting-our-community.html
Today, we are honored to share that Thevin’s hard work and academic excellence have been rewarded. He has officially selected Purdue University in Indiana to pursue his higher education.
Thevin, accompanied by his parents, visited the temple to share this great news and to seek the blessings of the Triple Gem as he embarks on this new academic journey. His success is a testament to the fact that when one combines intellectual effort with a heart for service, great goals are achieved.
