The first rose of the season… something anticipated through a long, cold winter. Isaiah prophesied that “the desert will rejoice and blossom like the rose” (Isaiah 35:1). The rose symbolizes new life, hope, and the rejuvenation that comes from God. Sometimes we have to wait through a dry season for our lives to ‘blossom’ and our prayers to be answered. The Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years before reaching the promised land of Canaan. So never lose hope, but trust that the Lord hears you, loves you, and that His timing is always perfect. As Paul wrote, “if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently” (Romans 8:25).
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13). Amen.
