If you could ask God one question about heaven right now, what would it be?

For thousands of years, Christians have debated exactly what happens in the moments immediately following death. Do you go straight into the presence of God? Do you "sleep" in the grave until the final resurrection? Or is there an intermediate "waiting room" where souls reside until the end of the age?

The Bible gives us glimpses—from Jesus telling the thief on the cross, "Today you will be with me in paradise," to Paul describing the dead as "sleeping." But how do we reconcile these seemingly different descriptions?

This week at Bible study, we are tackling one of the most personal and profound questions of our faith: What Happens the Moment You Die?

We'll look at the three main views (Immediate Presence, Soul Sleep, and the Intermediate State), dig into what the scriptures actually say, and discuss how our view of eternity changes how we live—and grieve—today.

Did God choose you, or did you choose God? It's one of the oldest and most passionate debates in all of Christianity.

On one side, you have scriptures that point to God's absolute sovereignty and His choice in our salvation (Ephesians 1:4). On the other, you have verses that emphasize our responsibility to believe and choose (John 3:16).

So, which is it? Are we puppets in a divine play, or are we free agents making our own decisions? What if the answer is... both?

This week at Bible study, we're diving headfirst into the tension between Predestination and Free Will. We'll look at what the Bible actually says, explore the different views, and figure out how it all applies to our lives today.
