How do you pursue your goals, ambitions, and purpose while keeping God at the center of your decisions? In Genesis 24, Abraham’s servant shows us the importance of seeking the Lord’s direction, praying throughout the journey, and trusting Him with the outcome.

In this message, “Keep God in the Conversation,” we explore the account of Abraham’s servant and his journey to find a wife for Isaac. Faced with an important responsibility, the servant did more than carry out his assignment. He prayed for guidance, paid attention to what unfolded before him, and acknowledged God when he recognized His direction.

This story reminds us that prayer is not reserved for emergencies. God should be part of our everyday decisions, career goals, relationships, ambitions, and plans for the future. We can work diligently toward our goals while remaining humble enough to seek His wisdom and allow Him to redirect our steps.

Through Genesis 24 and supporting Scriptures, we are encouraged to pray before we act, remain faithful while we wait, recognize our responsibility to move when the time comes, and trust God with outcomes beyond our control.

**Key Scripture:** Genesis 24:1–27
**Supporting Scriptures:** Proverbs 3:5–6, Proverbs 16:3, Philippians 4:6–7, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, and James 4:13–15.

Whether you are planning your next career move, pursuing a personal goal, building a relationship, or seeking clarity about your purpose, remember this: do not wait for a crisis to seek God. Keep Him in the conversation throughout the journey.

Not everything that leads us away from God's truth will look evil or sound malicious. Sometimes, deception begins with a simple question that plants doubt about what God has said.

In this message, James Campbell explores the fall of man in Genesis and reminds us why biblical discernment and personal accountability matter. God's grace is a gift, but it also teaches us to live differently. Are you testing what you hear against God's Word?

What does it mean to truly be content when life is difficult?

In Philippians 4:11–13, Paul explains that he learned how to be content regardless of his circumstances. His contentment was not based on having an easy life or getting everything he wanted. He learned how to remain grounded in Christ whether he experienced abundance or need.

This message explores how our perspective can change even when our circumstances do not. Contentment does not mean pretending that everything is good or refusing to acknowledge difficult situations. Instead, it means learning how to remain spiritually and mentally grounded without allowing our circumstances to determine our peace.

Through Paul's example, we are challenged to stop making our peace conditional on everything going right and begin asking what God can teach us in the circumstances we are experiencing.

Today’s message: “Back To The Assignment!”

09/12/2026

This is a long post, and I wrestled with this all yesterday, and I really have to respond. I hope you will read it to the end, especially if you are a minister, or follower of Jesus Christ:

I believe one of the greatest dangers facing ministry today is our desire to be heard more than we desire to be faithful.

Some have become so focused on attracting followers, building platforms, and saying something nobody else is saying that the simplicity of the Gospel has been pushed to the side.

We hear, “I’m preaching something nobody else is preaching.”
“God has given me a revelation that the church doesn’t know.”
“I’m going to tell you what they won’t tell you.”

But I have to ask: When did preaching the Gospel become insufficient?

There is a danger when our pursuit of being profound causes us to become confusing. There is a danger when our desire to be different causes us to drift from what is clear. And there is an even greater danger when people leave our preaching talking about the preacher more than they are talking about Jesus.

To every minister, preacher, teacher, and shepherd: we have been entrusted with something sacred.

We are not called to entertain the sheep.
We are not called to impress the sheep.
We are not called to build our names upon the sheep.

We are called to feed the sheep.

Our assignment is still the Gospel of the Kingdom.

Jesus Christ lived.
Jesus Christ died.
Jesus Christ was buried.
Jesus Christ rose again on the third day.
Jesus Christ is coming again.

And until He returns, we are called to teach people how to live faithfully in a world that is becoming increasingly hostile to the things of God.

Teach them how to love.
Teach them how to forgive.
Teach them how to walk in holiness.
Teach them how to serve.
Teach them how to endure suffering.
Teach them how to resist sin.
Teach them how to live by faith.
Teach them how to love their enemies.
Teach them how to follow Jesus.

We don’t need to make the Gospel complicated to make it powerful.

The Gospel already has power.

We don’t need to manufacture shock and awe.

The cross is still shocking.
The empty tomb is still powerful.
Grace is still amazing.
Sin is still serious.
Salvation is still necessary.
Jesus is still Lord.

So perhaps it’s time for us to put down the microphone of self-promotion and pick up the mantle of faithful ministry.

Let us stop competing over who has the newest revelation and start contending for the faith that was once delivered to the saints.

Let us stop trying to make people followers of us and make disciples of Jesus.

Because when the applause fades, the followers disappear, the platform is gone, and we stand before God, He won’t ask us how many people thought we were deep.

He will ask us what we did with what He entrusted to us.

Preacher, don’t be afraid to preach what has already been preached.

Preach Jesus.
Preach the Kingdom.
Preach the Word.
Preach the truth.
Preach the Gospel.

And when you have nothing new to say, remember this:

Jesus is not old news.
The cross is not old news.
The resurrection is not old news.
The Gospel is not old news.

It is still the power of God unto salvation.

Let’s get back to the assignment.

Peace!

Pastor Melvin
