‘The Village Church” will be hosting the Epworth Choir of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on Tuesday, March 25th at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary.

The first “youth” choir of what is now the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls OH was formed in 1929, and William Schutte, in 1934 formed the high school choir, which eventually became known as the Epworth Choir. The choir began its summer camps in 1963. The first trip was in 1965 to Detroit on a short weekend in February. The choir made its first annual Spring Break tour to Nashville in 1966 and has continued touring to locations such as Dallas, New Orleans, FloridaBoston, New York, Chicago, and Washington DC ever since.

The choir, made up of 7th through 12th graders, sings every Sunday morning for services at the church from September through May, and of course various other concerts throughout the year. The choir greatly enjoys singing a wide variety of musical styles ranging from classical to gospel and they love to spend time together and spread the good news of the Gospel of Jesus.

This year's concert program entitled "How Can I Keep From Singing" will include music by Gywneth Walker, selections from John Leavitt's Missa Festiva, and various choral anthems and spirituals by well known composers such as Craig Courtney, Mark Miller, Joel Raney, Pepper Choplin, Ken Medema, Irene Martin, Gilbert Martin and others. The Epworth Ringers will also ring on this program.
