To our Lansdale Catholic Family: “LC”originally opened in 1949 as Little Flower High School. We would like to honor the legacy of the school’s history, by engaging your classmates to support the creation of a bronze statue of the school’s patron saint, The Little Flower, Saint Therese of Lisieux.
The statue has already been designed by our classmate Gary Jacketti (76’) and is about to be cast in bronze. The artist is donating his time and talents to realize this installation. Many other alumni are donating their time, efforts, material and expertise as well. We have included an image of the work in its current state, executed in clay. It will be completed in bronze, then dedicated and installed on the 7th street side of the school building this spring. The cost of such a project is significant, with foundry expenses alone exceeding $28,000. Given the nature of the project, and its significance to ALL past and future students of LC, we have created a website that includes an inspiring video that tells the story of the project, and can accept online contributions. There are various levels of giving to accommodate all budgets and there are distinct art incentives for your generosity. No contribution is too small. We will also be conducting a 50/50, for which tickets can also be purchased on this website. All donors will have their names emblazoned on a bronze plaque that will accompany the statue.
With Gratitude,
Members of the Class of 76’
