Matthew's Lutheran Church is a community of believers committed to helping people know, trust, and love Jesus Christ and joyfully live for Him. Matthew's we believe:

That by our own words and actions, each of us has fallen short of the perfection that God demands and deserve his condemnation. That through his life, suffering, death, and resurrection, Jesus has paid for the sins of all people. Tha

t it is through faith in Christ that God gives us the forgiveness of our sins and eternal life with Him in heaven. That we can be sure of all God has done for us in Christ through the Bible, which is the inspired, inerrant Word of God. We at St. Matthew's would love the opportunity to serve you and your family in any way we can. If you are interested in finding out more about what our church believes, we invite you to join us for worship and Bible class or speak to our Pastor. May God bless you with the peace and joy that comes only from knowing and trusting Him as your Savior! Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

All of God’s people, including Moses, David, Peter and Paul were sinners. They never forgot the sins of their past. But God did! He forgave all their sins and called them to proclaim his mercy. All Christians are sinners. Only God’s mercy can explain why Jesus brings people to faith, and promises them salvation. Only grace can explain how he calls us to serve as we are able, even in the ministry of the gospel. God loves sinners.
Please join us Sunday morning at 9 am to hear the message from 1 Timothy 1:12-17, "God Gives Gifts to Sinners". May God bless our time together.

How can one be three and three be one? It is hard for us to understand the Holy Trinity, but then again, there are a lot of things that are real that we don't actually understand. Some things are just beyond our comprehension. Someone bigger than us is in control, and that is a comfort to us. God made us, loves us, saves us and gives us faith. May we follow his commands and be faithful, live by faith, and be of one mind (in God's Word) and live in peace. From 2 Corinithians 1:11-14:

At the festival of Holy Trinity we celebrate that God revealed to us the mystery that he is one God in three persons. The triune God wants to teach this its truth and purity. This festival of the Holy Trinity begins the second half of the Church Year as God’s people joyfully proclaim that we are baptized and blessed in the name of the only true God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Come and join us tomorrow at 9 am, either online or in person, to hear the message from 2 Corinthians 13:11-14 as we observe Holy Trinity Sunday. Retired Pastor Jon Tesch will be our guest speaker. May God bless our worship time together.

The theme of God's lifegiving water and picturing it as a stream of living water runs throughout the Bible. It is God's Holy Spirit that is the one who flows and is poured out, giving the gift of eternal life to his people. How is the Holy Spirit poured out on us? Do you thirst to be nearer to God, or are you spiritually dehydrated? The Holy Spirit gives us different gifts. Rejoice in them, and let them flow from you in your words and actions in kindness and service to others. From John 7:37-39:

It was a beautiful day for the Memorial Day Parade in Stoddard! Members of St. Matthew's handed out color changing cups, magnets, candy, and gave greetings and invitations to people in our commnity. We had a great turnout both in our group and for parade spectators! Thanks to all who participated!
