In 1 Samuel 15, God gave King Saul instructions to follow. King Saul did some of what God directed but also did what he thought was best. King Saul tried to justify his actions by saying he was going to give a great sacrifice (offering) to the Lord. We often struggle the same way King Saul did. We do what we think is best rather than doing what God has directed. We even try to make up for it by offering more...whether it's our time, talent and/or treasure. The chapter ends wuth God saying He was sirry He ever made Saul king. If you know what God is directing you to do and you too, are trying to justify your actions.. take heed. Repent and obey. The Lord is gracious and willing to restore. Walk in the favor of The Lord. That is why we are told, "To obey is better than sacrifice."
