What if following Jesus means learning to respond differently?
When someone hurts us, disagrees with us, or comes at us, our natural response can be to push back. But Jesus calls us to something different.

This week on the Everyday Jesus Podcast, we’re talking about “Jesus Jujitsu”—learning to navigate conflict with truth AND love, becoming peacemakers instead of peacekeepers, and refusing to become what we’re fighting.

The goal isn’t to win the argument.
The goal is to respond in a way that looks like Jesus.

Listen to this week’s episode and let’s learn to fight back the Jesus way.

Your workplace isn't an interruption to your faith—it's one of your greatest mission fields.

People may never open a Bible, but they'll read your life every day.

Lead with integrity. Love people well. Keep Christ at the center.

The greatest promotion won't come from your employer, but from hearing Jesus say, **"Well done, good and faithful servant."**

The world is always telling us what to chase—success, approval, comfort, more.

But what if we stopped chasing everything else and chased Jesus?

That’s the heart behind my two 60-day devotionals, *Chasing Jesus* and *Only Jesus.*

*Chasing Jesus* will encourage you to leave fear and insecurity behind, believe God’s heart for you, and surrender your life to the life He’s calling you into.

*Only Jesus* reminds us that nothing compares to Him. No sin, shame, addiction, idol, success, or comfort can satisfy like Jesus can.

My prayer is that these pages don’t just give you something to read, but draw you closer to Jesus, challenge what you’re chasing, and remind you that He is worth giving your whole life to.

Chase Jesus. Because there is truly no one like Him.🤍

I can still smell the salty air and feel the ocean breeze rushing toward the sand where I was planted, deep in thought as I began to pen the words— In the Beginning. That was the title of the first devotion I ever put to paper. It was 2016; my husband and I were on our first trip to Hawaii, and I longed to get what I felt inside out. So I wrote it down, and for reasons only God knows, it resonated!

That was 10 years ago; this ministry began in May 2016.
I recently returned to that beach, sat for a moment, snapped a photo, and reflected on my journey with Jesus.

I was clueless 10 years ago that one little—very little—devotion—about 200 words—would lead me to write 2 books, publish hundreds of devotions in 9 newspapers across Missouri, preach and teach, podcast, and run a nonprofit for most of that time. And the list goes on. I don’t say any of this to toot my horn; I say this to remind you, sweet friend, that small beginnings are still beginnings. Often they are the sweetest. The goal isn’t to go big or go home. The goal is to chase Jesus and watch what He can do with your little! I didn’t expect any of this; I was but a willing vessel, and He’s chosen to use my faithfulness to Him to reach others.

Maybe you have a dream you’ve been praying about. Life hack—chase Jesus. Abide in Him and seek Him. If that dream is His, He will make it happen! Just be willing to obey when and if He asks you to take a step!

There was a time when I tried to create my own outcomes. It didn’t work. But when I chased Jesus wholeheartedly, He created incredible outcomes in my life and ministry. I say this gently and with love—Stop chasing success; that’s the way of the world! Chase Jesus and be satisfied if He’s all you ever obtain (Ps 23:1). There’s a song that says, “If the highest place I reach is at your feet (Jesus), then I’ve done it all.” That’s my heart's cry. Let it be yours too.

Let your motive be to share the gospel, not to grow a following or get likes. Not to sell books or fill in the blank, but to genuinely reach people for Jesus. He’ll work it out. Just be with Him.

Ten years have changed a lot of things. My family has grown up. We have three adult children. Shout-out to all the moms wading through this season. Our ministry has grown. Dustin and I have grown in our marriage; we’ve grown in our faith, and we’ve aged a little in our looks, too. But there is one thing that hasn’t changed at all: Jesus. He never changes. He’s always the same. A constant we can count on. So be confident knowing He is there, in the middle of it with you, wanting to partner with you and be with you. You are called! First to Him and then to good works He’s prepared for you. Trust Him to handle it. It makes the journey so much sweeter when you are a passenger-princess! Let Him do the driving. Just follow His lead. I promise you’ll be thankful you did!

So what’s next for the ministry? Who knows! I’m taking it a day at a time, listening to what Jesus says in our quiet time together, and believing He’s working out what I can’t. I’m taking steps when He says move. I’m gonna keep showing up, and I’m certain He will too. And I’m going to keep praying that this ministry will help you know Jesus, love His Word, and live transformed! Not because I’m awesome, but because He is!

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” — Zech 4:10

The enemy wants you to believe your worst mistake defines you.

Jesus says you're **redeemed**.

Through His sacrifice, you've been forgiven, restored, and made new. Your identity is no longer your past—it's who you are in Christ.

Your story may include failure, but it isn't defined by it.

You're not called to your ministry before you're called to your Savior.
So many of us spend years chasing purpose while slowly drifting from the Person who gives it.
Your first calling isn't a platform.It isn't a career.It isn't even your greatest gift.
Your first calling is to belong to Jesus.
Everything else flows from there.

What if we've been asking the wrong question about calling?

Before God calls you to a ministry, career, or purpose, He calls you to **Himself**.

Our first calling isn't to do something for Jesus—it's to belong to Jesus.

Identity comes before assignment. Relationship comes before responsibility. Abiding comes before fruit.

When we remain in Christ, the good works He prepared for us flow naturally from that relationship.

"Maybe God loves me... but does He actually want me?"
That's a question so many Christians quietly wrestle with.
This week's podcast is a reminder that you don't have to earn God's love or convince Him to choose you.
He already has.
If you've ever battled rejection, shame, comparison, or the feeling that you're "too much" for God, this episode is for you.
