Today, we honor more than a continent — we honor a legacy. 🌍❤️🖤💚
Africa Day, celebrated each year on May 25th, commemorates the founding of the Organization of African Unity in 1963, now known as the African Union. This day stands as a reminder of Africa’s strength, unity, liberation, and continued impact across the world.
As members of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and RAYAC Districts 14–20, we recognize the deep historical and spiritual connection between Africa and the AME Church. From the resilience of our ancestors to the global witness of the Black Church today, Africa’s influence continues to shape our worship, our culture, our leadership, and our faith.
Today is not only about reflection — it is about celebration. We celebrate the richness of African cultures, languages, traditions, innovation, and the young leaders rising across the continent and throughout the diaspora.
May we continue to walk in unity, justice, excellence, and purpose as one global church connected by faith and mission.
