The demonic doctrine of the 'religious spirit' is the foundation for many (most) of the main denominations today. It says that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not for today. It is ingrained in almost all Reformed churches (Presbyterian, Anglican, Baptist), as well as most Methodist churches. Faith in the Cross that doesn't lead to the Dove is only half a faith - Selah!

Everyone has it backward. They start with God and try to see how Jesus fits into that when they should start with Jesus to understand God - Slelah!

For a pre-believer in Jesus as the Jewish Messiah and the Lord of the whole world, God's grace is a free gift offering the free gift of salvation. However there is a corrupted grace teaching floating around that says that this initial grace is the same for believers as it is for pre-believers; this is erroneous. For one who has believed in Jesus and entered into new creation grace operates differently. For a believer the additional grace required to live a life that glorifies God while still on earth isn't just given - it is apportioned according to our choices. If we change our mind and our actions, God changes our hearts, and we aren't just forgiven of our sins, we actually rise above and overcome the power of sin in our life. A "grace" Christian lives victoriously; a non-grace Christian either is looking for deliverance from the power of sin when Jesus appears, or lives in a rut of sin-confess-sin-confess-sin-confess, living no different than the world with one exception - they now have a Christian vocabulary with no power to live as new creation. Bottom line? You are to be different, live different and make a difference on the earth by God's grace. Selah!
