Stillwater United Church (Presbyterian U.S.A.)

Stillwater United Church (Presbyterian U.S.A.) On September 10th, SUC returns to worship in the Sanctuary at 10:30 a.m. It was built in 1873, on the lot that once housed the original Baptist Church.

A NYS and National Historic Landmark
In 1947, a federation was formed and on May 6, 1952, the Stillwater United Church (Presbyterian U.S.A.) was established by unifying three Stillwater Protestant churches: the First Methodist Church, the Schoonmaker Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Second Baptist Church. The current church building, located at 747 Hudson, was chosen to be the United Church’s

house of worship. The current church building, located at 747 Hudson, (formerly numbered 135), was chosen to be the United Church’s house of worship. Being listed on the prestigious NYS and National Registries of Historic Places is recognition of the importance of this property to the history of our country.
