I'm sure this article is behind a paywall. But it's a welcome reminder of the rescheduled Stillwater Thunder over the Valley fireworks, preceded by 2 hours of the St Croix Jazz Orchestra big band music at the bandshell in Pioneer Park, this Saturday, August 31, starting at 6pm. Sure, why not fireworks in August!!

In addition to the fireworks, spectators can watch a Civil War cannon salute in Lowell Park and listen to live music in Pioneer Park.

Love Is a Challenge (2 Timothy 4:7; Phil. 3:14)

Love is a challenge
Love is a choice
Love is a contest where everyone wins

Love is a journey
Love is a lifetime
Love is the place where an “other” begins

Love can be hard work
And seldom is perfect
So fickle and fragile, we fly and we fall

But love is our lifeblood
Our bond and our burden
Our chance to embody the meaning of “all”

So take up this challenge
To counter the culture
That tells us that hate is where power resides

Make love your vocation
A broad invitation
A new innovation to merge the two sides

Yes, love is a journey
The work of the saints

So much music to look forward to this Sunday, Sept 26. The Trinity Choir, directed by Carol Carver will sing for 8:45 indoor worship. And Kirby Smith and the Band will lead at the drive-in at its new start time, 11 AM. (Arrive around 10:30 or later for scones and coffee at the drive-in.)

We are looking forward to the start of Faith Formation at both services THIS SUNDAY (in-person inside at 8:45am and at the Drive-in at 11am). We also have a Learning Hour 10-10:45am in the Garden Room with our Housing Team, a Milestone geared for Grade 5, and activities for younger ones in the gym. ALL ARE WELCOME for ALL of it. Please invite your friends, neighbors, grands. It’s not all quite buttoned up yet 🙂, but we Bless Backpacks with Buttons and praise God for learning, playing, and serving together as the Body of Christ. ❤️
