Quinn Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church Sunday Morning Worship: 11am
Wednesday Bible Study: 6pm

Today, Sister Lisa Mason brought the morning message for the Melinda Guy Women’s Missionary Society. She delivered the morning message from John 21:18–22, with emphasis on Peter’s question in verse 21: “Lord, what about him?”

Her message "What About Him" offered a thoughtful and spiritually grounded reflection on the believer’s responsibility to keep our eyes on Jesus, to follow Him and remain committed to our individual assignment and also to avoid the hindrance of comparison.

Sister Mason reminded us that each of God’s children has a distinct path, purpose, and calling.

The message challenged us to stay in our own lane and to trust the unique journey God has designed for each of us and that our focus must remain on faithfully following Christ.

The message was both timely and edifying, providing encouragement to all in attendance.

We are honored to welcome Miss Lisa Mason as the morning speaker. There is a word in her spirit and a word she is now ready to pour out.

If you’ve been carrying something heavy… If you’ve been needing God to meet you in a real way… If you’ve been longing for a moment where your soul can breathe again…This is your invitation.

Come.

Come as you are.

Come expecting God to move.

Your presence will not just be appreciated — it will be part of the blessing.

Sunday Message Recap — “The Wind Still Blows” 🔥
Walking in the Power of Pentecost
Rev. Dr. Timothy Storms, Pastor

Today we were reminded that Pentecost is not a memory — it’s a promise. A promise that the wind of God still blows, the fire still purifies, and the Spirit still empowers.

Key Highlights from the Word

Pentecost as a promise — not a one day event, but an ongoing outpouring.

The wind still blows — even in hard seasons, God’s Spirit has not stopped moving.

Waiting with expectation — waiting is not wasted; it positions us for “suddenly.”

Unity invites outpouring — 120 people in the Upper Room, praying with one heart and one purpose.

Positioned to receive — God is ready to pour out blessings… but are we ready to receive?

Fire that purifies — the Spirit doesn’t just excite us; He cleanses us.

Open hearts; willing spirits — transformation requires surrender.

God is unchanging — the same God who moved in Acts still moves today.

Scripture Foundation
Acts 2:1–12
Joel 2:28–29

The Bottom Line

Pentecost gave us the Holy Spirit. And today — right now — the wind still blows. God has not changed. His power has not weakened. His Spirit has not stopped moving.

Pentecost teaches us that when God’s people come together, hungry for His Word and open to His Spirit, He meets us there-- Church isn’t just a place to go — it’s a place to grow. A place to learn, to be strengthened, to be encouraged, and to be positioned for everything God wants to pour out.

Tommorow is Pentecost Sunday do you know the meaning of Pentecost?

Pentecost is the day we celebrate the Holy Spirit coming down and empowering the followers of Jesus. It marks the moment in Acts 2 when a mighty rushing wind filled the room, tongues of fire rested on the believers, and the Church was born with power.

It happens 50 days after Easter, reminding us that God keeps His promises — He didn’t leave us comfortless, but sent the Helper, the Spirit of Truth, to guide, strengthen, and unite us.

Pentecost reminds us that we are not a powerless people. We are Spirit led, Spirit filled, and Spirit sent.

Here are the main symbols representing Pentecost and what they represent:

Fire symbolizes:
the Holy Spirit’s power
purification
boldness

Wind represents:
the breath of God giving life

Dove symbolizes:
peace (God’s calming, comforting presence)
the Spirit’s gentle presence
New beginnings

Red color symbolizes:
the fire of the Spirit, not death

Come worship with us as we celebrate the fire that still falls!

Today, Rev. Dr. Timothy Storms preached a message titled “Fireproof: What the Furnace Couldn’t Finish.” He reminded us of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego — three men thrown into a furnace heated seven times hotter than normal because they refused to bow down to the king’s idol.

But when the king looked into the flames, he didn’t see three men… he saw three plus One walking around. And when the three came out, they weren’t burned, they weren’t harmed, and they didn’t even smell like smoke. Why? Because they had already made up their minds before the fire ever started about who their God was.

Their story teaches us something deep: The fire may be real, but so is the God who steps into it with us.

God doesn’t always reroute our trials. Sometimes He walks us through them — not to destroy us, but to reveal His power, His presence, and His faithfulness.

The real question isn’t whether the fire will come — it’s whether our faith will stand. Not bowing isn’t about stubbornness; it’s about confidence. Not burning isn’t about our strength; it’s about God’s nearness.

THIS WAS JUST A TIDBIT OF THE SERMON…SEE WHAT YOU’RE MISSING WHEN YOU DON’T COME HEAR GOD’S HOLY WORD!
