It’s almost time…🩵

Please join us for our monthly UmmaTea session, open to the 21+ community, hosted by ADAMS Young Adults in collaboration with ADAMS Qurtaba and The Qahwa Cafe!

All of us have been touched by loss, whether the passing of a loved one, the loss of a relationship, or struggling to support someone else who is grieving. At the final UmmaTea session of 2025, we invite the whole community for a timeless and universal conversation about how the Quran can be a healing and a salve for our hearts when afflicted with pain, especially grief after loss. As Allah SWT says in Surah Isra, “And We send down of the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy for the believers” (17:82). How can we connect our hearts to the Quran and allow the Everlasting Word of Allah guide us through life’s transitions, providing us with hope and grounding as we begin a new year?

IT’S UMMATEA WEEK!!! ☕️🩵

Please join us for our monthly UmmaTea session, open to the community, hosted by ADAMS Young Adults in partnership with ADAMS Qurtuba and Qahwa Cafe!

Last month, we explored how we can distinguish the voice of our heart from the voice of our nafs (ego). One of the key ways to strengthen the voice of our hearts is by purifying them from the diseases that impact their wholesomeness (Qalb Saleem). The antidote for vices (greed, jealousy, hatred, vanity, etc), is to develop opposite virtues through habit formation and reframing our spiritual attitudes.

This month, we will be tackling one of the virtues we can strengthen in ourselves to ward off against spiritual disease and the influence of Shaytaan, the Virtue of Gratitude.

Join Imam Magid as we think and learn together to answer this question— how can we practice Gratitude to clean our hearts from vice? We know this is a holiday weekend, many students and family members are in town. Please invite anyone you wish to join us for warm tea and fall themed snacks in communiTea!

Please come with a notebook, a pen, and your own water bottle. Tea and snacks will be served as usual. Please arrive on time— we will open the doors at 7:45PM for tea time and then begin the main program after promptly after Isha, insha’Allah.

We welcome all members of our community over 21 to attend this event! As we provide free tea and snacks, we ask that if you are able, to please purchase a ticket and/or gift a donation to allow us to keep this event free and accessible to ADAMS Young Adults and Young Professionals! May Allah SWT reward you all and may He continue to protect and bless our community.
