God is moving in our community! What an amazing turn out this morning for our final meeting. We met at the flagpole in fellowship, shared some donuts, prayed over our summers and ended with the Lord’s Prayer.

Thank you to our High School FCA group for attending with us as we ended as a district FCA group.

We having amazing leaders within the schools, great community support and amazing students who are growing in their faith daily. We pray their summers will be rich and full and they come back re-energized and ready for a new year.

A little headbandz and donuts to kick off our morning session! Shout out to our very own Dr. P. Dail for the donut delivery today. We have some great student leadership within our group.

We are working through the Lord’s Prayer as we finish out the year. Today we discussed Matthew 6 verse 12, “and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” Jesus also goes on to tell us in 14-15, “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your father will not forgive your sins.”

We discussed what makes it difficult to forgive, which situations are tougher than others and why that may be hard. We also discussed times we have been forgiven and how sometimes it’s hard to shake the guilt the devil brings on us after we have been forgiven.

We then recalled the best example of forgiveness we have, through Jesus on the cross who died for our sins. God sees us as blameless and pure because of Jesus Christ! Amen for that.

Casey’s pizza brought by Mrs. Foster was good, but God is even greater! As the school year heads to the finish line we are diving into the Lord’s Prayer.

Today’s session we looked at Matthew 6:6-9, “6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,”

We see Jesus first warn about praying in a boastful way, as God wants our hearts not our religious habits.

Then Jesus assures us that God, the almighty, not only wants us to pray to Him intimately but knows our thoughts and feelings before we speak.

Jesus ends with telling us God is not just your Father, but OUR Father, everyone you come into contact has a Father who is wanting and calling them to come to Him. How awesome is it to know that we all are brothers and sisters?!

What a great morning, have a blessed rest of your weeks!

Today's morning session read from 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 and discussed the topic of success in God's eyes and how it is different than what success is in the world while munching on some donuts.

Goals are great in whatever you do, sports, activities, or school and often are necessary to continue to grow and develop. However, God really only wants 3 things from us:

1.) To pursue a relationship with Him .
2.) To love others as Christ loved us.
3.) To do our very best for His glory.

When we take a step back and think about this, it is a strange idea but one that frees us from a lot of the stress that things of this world can bring us. If we shift our focus to what God calls a success we actually will see improvements in all areas and a growth in our spiritual walk with Christ as well!
