A little poem , I wrote and read At Church yesterday.
The Night Before Christmas
It was the night before Christmas, all through the land, The world stood in need of a Savior for every man.
When all of a sudden there burst forth a light,
Shining out from a stable and piercing the night.
The heavens swung open as angels did sing,
“Glory to the Highest, for the newborn King.”
There were shepherds on hillsides, tending their flock,Who trembled with fear and stood frozen in shock.
Then the angels proclaimed, “Cast your fears away, For I bring you good tidings and great joy today.
Christ the Lord has been born, the Savior of all,
Come to rescue the world, both the great and the small.”
“Waste no time when I give you the sign—
Run with haste, to look upon your Savior’s face.
Wrapped in swaddling clothes, in a manger He lies; Go there now, do not linger, before morning’s first rise.
Tell His mother and Joseph too all these words are faithful and true.
