Buddhist Meditation Center - Watpaknam Michigan Buddhist Meditation Center (BMC), also known as Watpaknam Michigan, is a Theravada Buddhist temple. There is no fee to visit BMC at any time.

The Buddhist Meditation Center (BMC), also known as Watpaknam Michigan, is a Theravada Buddhist temple that was established in 2009. We are located at 8500 Plumbrook Road in Sterling Heights, Michigan. English Dhamma Night sessions take place every Sunday evening from 6:00 PM until about 8:00 PM. This is a good way to learn Buddhist concepts and to learn and practice meditation. The temple is a donation dependent organization. Donations are greatly appreciated, but neither required nor expected.

Dear meditation practitioners and friends in the Dhamma, we’d like to remind and warmly invite you once again to join us for English Dhamma Night on August 16, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

We have organized a program featuring mindful chanting in the Buddhist tradition, breathing meditation (Anapananusati), and learning Pali to read Buddhist chants and teachings.

English Dhamma Night — August 9, 2026

We began the evening with mindful chanting, followed by a gradual practice of standing, walking, and sitting meditation.

After the meditation practice, we studied how to read Pāli for Buddhist chanting, learning the proper pronunciation and reading of Pāli words used in Buddhist chants.

Thank you all for joining us and making this evening meaningful and joyful.

Sunday at our English Dhamma Night, August 2, 2026.

Last week, we were honored to have our Center President and the founder of English Dhamma Night share a thoughtful Dhamma talk on Truth (Sacca). He explained the difference between conventional truth and ultimate truth through clear and practical examples, helping us better understand how these teachings relate to our daily lives.

The evening also included mindful chanting, breathing meditation (Ānāpānasati), and an opportunity to practice mindfulness together in a calm and friendly atmosphere.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to practicing and learning together again next Sunday.
