The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is calling all Catholics to join in praying this Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which starts today and goes through June 11 and leads to the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 12.

https://www.usccb.org/novena-sacred-heart-jesus...

The U.S. Bishops will gather for their 2026 Spring Plenary Assembly, where they will be consecrating the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The novena draws its daily devotions from the Litany of the Sacred Heart. Each day will reflect on the wisdom of saints and pontiffs on the Sacred Heart and offers opportunities for prayer and action, framed by Pope Francis’ encyclical Dilexit Nos (He Loved Us) and Pope Leo XIV’s apostolic exhortation Dilexi Te (I Have Loved You).

On this Memorial Day, we pause in gratitude and prayer for the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. May we honor their sacrifice by praying for peace, justice, and the hope of eternal life in Christ. 🇺🇸

Let us pray. 🙏🏻

God of power and mercy,
you destroy war and put down earthly pride.
Banish violence from our midst and wipe away our tears, that we may all deserve to be called your sons and daughters.
Keep in your mercy those men and women
who have died in the cause of freedom
and bring them safely into your kingdom of justice and peace. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

💐 A Prayer for All Mothers 💐

Mary, on this day when we honor all mothers,
we turn to you.

We thank the Lord for the gift of motherhood:
for mothers who have given us life and love,
for adoptive and spiritual mothers,
for grandmothers and godmothers,
for mothers expecting new life,
and for those who long to be mothers.

We remember mothers who are grieving,
mothers who have lost children,
mothers who have lost their own mothers,
and those for whom this day is difficult.

Blessed Mother, intercede for them all.
Ask your Divine Son to give them strength, peace,
courage, and joy.

May every mother know the love of Christ,
and may their care and sacrifice
reflect the tenderness of God Himself.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

We’re less than a week away from St. Ephrem’s Parish Listening Sessions as part of Archdiocesan Restructuring in the Archdiocese of Detroit.

Join us Monday, May 11 or Wednesday, May 13 from 7:00–9:00 PM in the Fr. Ronald Milligan Activity Center. These gatherings are a chance to come together as a parish family to listen, share, and reflect on the future of our local Church. Every voice matters, and all are welcome.

Please register in advance for one session at restructuring.aod.org or by contacting the parish office.

Let us continue to pray for our parish, especially those working to prepare our sessions and those who will participate, as well as our Archdiocese and all guiding this process, that with hearts open, we may be led by the Holy Spirit in wisdom, peace, and unity.
