We are almost a month in on our Wednesday Night Ministries with the kids and teens. I've realized that some of you may not know what we do each week or know how much the kids and teens actually learn. I'm here to tell you, we have fun but we learn too:
This school year the Children's Ministry will be learning the Bible stories, verses and facts about the heroes of the Bible. Stories of Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham and many more.
During Sunday School each week, I will tell a Bible story and go over verses with my class. They will be given facts on whatever hero we are learning about. Did you know that Noah lived to be 950 years old and was ten generations from Adam? He was also in the lineage of Methuselah. Most importantly, he obeyed God!
When the kids leave church services each Sunday for Children's church, they go downstairs for a snack and watch a video of the same hero they learned about in Sunday School. Sometimes they have worksheets or crafts to fill out or make to go along with the lesson. Bible verses are always being recited during each lesson. If you see the kids with worksheets on Sundays during church, it's usually a worksheet with questions or facts about the lesson they just learned.
Wednesday is the recap of the original Sunday School lesson. This is where the kids hear the story once more and then we have a trivia time to see what they have actually learned.
In doing a lesson three times, in different ways, this insures that the story and lesson will stick.
We have fun but most importantly, the kids are learning about Jesus, his teachings and the people who followed Him!
If you ever want to jump in and help, just let me know. We can always find a spot for YOU!
This school year the kids will be learning (on their own for prizes)
