Join us this Sunday as we explore 2 Timothy 1:1-14 where we are invited into an intimate letter from Paul to Timothy. Much of the New Testament is made up of letters like this - giving us an opportunity to read other's mail.. We see/hear Paul's deep concern and encouragement for Timothy, his protege. Verse 6 says "review God's gift," or "fan back into the flame."

Stephens City Mennonite Church, is participating in the 21st annual Rt 11 Yard Crawl on Saturday August 8th. Plenty of items for all ages. VINTAGE ITEMS; FURNITURE; KITCHEN ITEMS; DECORATIONS, FIRST AID ITEMS; SOME TOOLS; MATERIAL

The Route 11 Yard Crawl is over 43 miles of yard sales and business sales along the Old Valley Pike, U.S. Route 11. There is no official starting point for the crawl, however the official crawl is from New Market (I-81 Exit 264) to Stephens City (I-81 Exit 307). You may start at any point.

The Route 11 Yard Crawl is a partnership of the Towns of Stephens City, Middletown, Strasburg, Toms Brook, Woodstock, Edinburg, Mt Jackson and New Market, the Shenandoah County Chamber and the Shenandoah County Tourism Office.

This Sunday’s service is titled “Walls and Bridges: A Journey with Slavery and Racism.” Our Scripture texts are Ephesians 2:14–16 and Galatians 3:26–29.

This unique service will be led by Denny Myers and Pastor Les Horning.

Denny will share the presentation he previously offered at a Black History event, tracing Mennonite responses to slavery and racism from 1688 through the Civil Rights era.

Pastor Les Horning will offer framing reflections drawn from a recent retreat centered on “Damned Whiteness: How White Christian Allies Failed the Black Freedom Movement.”

Together, we will lament the walls we have built and sustained, while seeking hope in the places where walls have fallen and bridges have been formed.
