with Kim Lorigan and Rev Lauren Levwood

Memorial Day is a time of reflective remembrance, bringing up a range of memories for each of us. Join us this Sunday to hear the deeply personal meaning of Memorial Day for UU Shenandoah member Kim Lorigan. This Sunday, May 10: “The Woman with the Flowers” - Rev. Lauren Levwood

On this Flower Communion, Mother's Day, and Child Dedication Sunday, we honor the beauty of every being, as reflected in the diversity of flowers that adorn our world. We also lift up the iconic Frida Kahlo, known for incredible authenticity in art and in life, and for wearing brightly colored floral crowns. Come join us this morning in the spirit of celebration and joy as a form of resistance and pride. Let’s come together to honor the beauty of nature, which we are all a part of.

“I paint flowers so they will not die.” -Frida Kahlo

🌸🌺🌷 Please bring a special flower (or a few!) to church with you on Sunday!
All will be invited to place their flowers in our community vases
for our Flower Communion ritual. 🌸🌺🌷
