Please mark your calendars for the sweetest Sunday of Summer! On Sunday, July 19 we will host our annual ice cream social, serving homemade vanilla, chocolate, peach, pineapple, and strawberry ice cream from 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM.
This year's Ice Cream Social proceeds will benefit Bridger Peters of Elk Creek and her family. At one month old, Bridger was diagnosed with several congenital heart defects, including holes in both the upper and lower chambers of her heart and a leaking tricuspid valve. At three months of age, she underwent open-heart surgery.
While the repairs to the holes in her heart were successful, her tricuspid valve continues to heal, and her medical team remains hopeful that it will improve with time. Bridger will return to Children's Hospital in July to see if her valve is still leaking, and although she will live with this diagnosis for the rest of her life, she continues to face each day with strength and a smile.
Throughout this journey, Bridger has been supported every step of the way by her parents, Josh and Ashley, and the love and prayers of their family, friends, and community. Josh serves as a volunteer firefighter, and both he and Ashley are active members of St. Peter's Church.
