🌹Happy Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary!🌹

Today, we celebrate the birth of Mary, the one who said "yes" and became the Mother of God. Her birth reminds us that grace enters the world quietly, through ordinary families, ordinary homes, and ordinary lives made extraordinary by love.

Join us in giving thanks for Mary today, and for the reminder that we are all called to love in our affirming and inclusive catholic faith.

♥Happy !

Today, we give thanks for everyone who labors.🙏

Work can often go unseen or undervalued. Whoever you are and whatever work fills your days - paid or unpaid, in an office, a classroom, a kitchen, a hospital, or a home- you are valued, seen, and welcome at this table of Christ. Your labor matters. You are loved exactly as God made you.

As we rest today, let us also remember those still on the clock: nurses, retail workers, caregivers, and so many others who keep our community running. We pray that they may know rest, fair wages, and respect.

Wishing our whole parish family - and all who find themselves here - a peaceful, safe, and grace-filled Labor Day. 🙏🌈✝

Today we celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Phoebe - minister and leader in the early Church!

St. Phoebe was entrusted by St. Paul to deliver his Letter to the Romans, which was a foundational New Testament epistle written around 57 A.D.

In St. Paul's Letter to the Romans 16:1-2 he writes: "I commend to you Phoebe our sister, who is also a diakonos of the church at Cenchreae, that you may receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the holy ones, and help her in whatever she may need from you, for she has been a benefactor to many and to me as well."

Diakonos is commonly known to mean deacon.

St. Pheobe's life is a powerful, historic testament to the essential leadership, ministry, and spiritual authority of women in our early church.

As an affirming catholic community, we honor St. Phoebe’s legacy by continually opening our doors, and our altars, to the diverse gifts of all of God’s children.

We give thanks for the women, LGBTQ+ Bishops, Priests, Deacons, Acolytes, and lay leaders who continue her tradition of courageous service and hospitality, and bold faith today.

May St. Phoebe inspire us all to serve with open hearts, lead with courage, and build an affirming catholic church where everyone has a seat at the table.

St. Phoebe, pray for us!
