BACKGROUND OF HEARTS MATTER:
In March of 2011, a vision was placed on one woman’s heart: to bring the message of God’s love, salvation, healing and teaching for women back to Statesboro. God prepared hearts and minds to join in that vision, and Hearts Matter Conference Ministry was born. The purpose of Hearts Matter Ministry is to assist in the restoration of women to the beings that God intended
. It is very similar to the concept that is delivered in the book, Captivating by Staci Elderidge. Women were created in the image of God’s heart. We are emotional and relational beings. We were created to love with our whole hearts… not just the parts that were left over after being stomped upon, broken, and left out to dry. In the very beginning, as children we did that. But somewhere along through life circumstances or relationships gone awry… Our hearts remained the same size, but little by little the use of the heart has changed. It is no longer used to it’s full potential. The heart is so guarded that we have come to expect others to reject it… and by that I mean, reject us. In one way or another we’ve all been rejected. And it hurt. With every hurt our hearts have been toughened, and made callused. A big thick layer was formed in defensive mode each time, until it became like a rock… A Solid, fortitude that no one is allowed to enter, not even God. We are lonely. We are scared. We are unemotional. We are no longer the women that God created. We are not supposed to love slowly, or gradually, but boldly. Our heart is our greatest asset given to us by God. Yes, we are to guard our heart because it is the cornerstone of our entire lives, but guarding does not mean hiding or hardening. We are to love like God… knowing that heartache comes along with loving… and also knowing that when the hurt does come that we will be alright, because God will take care of us. He will not forsake us during times of hurt. God gave Hearts Matter… Proverbs 4:23, “Keep vigilant watch over your heart; That’s where life starts.” I believe that God is saying hearts matter. Physically, the heart is the most important organ. When the heart stops beating… The life ends. Emotionally and spiritually, when the heart is inactive… life is also dead. Through each conference we may never see the end results. We are merely called to plant the seed, and hopefully foster and fertilize it… Not necessarily sow from it. The results will be measured through the next generation. The call is to assist in the restoration of the women’s hearts so that they can become who God intended… the friend, the wife, and/or the mother. "If you reach the woman... you reach the home;
If you reach the home... you reach the world" ~ Pam Jenkins
