I believe this is true of most people, and I include myself.

We do not have a time problem.

We have a priority problem.

We find time for almost everything we actually want to do. God and the people closest to us tend to get whatever is left. The Greek word kairos, pronounced KAI-ros, in Ephesians 5:15-16 means an appointed opportunity, a moment that will not come back.

Your calendar is one of the most honest pictures of what you actually value.

Does anyone stay in a hotel every once in a while?

I know that most hotels still have the individual soap, bars, prepackaged, and same thing with the bottles of shampoo and conditioner.

Next time you stay at a hotel either instead of using the ones that are provided since most people bring their own, collect them and bring them back with you.

We could use small toiletries like that for several different outreach programs we regularly support.

If you happen to collect toiletries between now and the end of the year, bring them by Grace Community Church and leave them in Chad’s office.

If you are someone following impact and you do not live in this area or attend, Grace Community Church, think about saving them yourself wherever you are at and donating them to some local charity!

Each one of us can make an impact right where we are.

This picture is beautiful. I took it last year on September 11, standing at the top of the Rock in New York City. But as beautiful as that view was, this day carries a weight no skyline can capture.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember. We remember the lives that were lost, the families who were changed forever, and the ordinary people who ran toward danger without a second thought. Days like this remind us that we live in a fallen world, broken by sin and capable of great evil, but also capable of great sacrifice and love. Today we honor their memory, and we renew our hope, because we serve a God who meets us in our darkest moments and never leaves us there.
