Let’s learn the story of Passover!
We learned this story last year!
And the year before that….
Why do we have to learn it again???
WHY??
Because WE are not who WE were a year ago! We experience life differently from year to year, which makes us understand the Passover story differently from year to year, no matter how old we are! We also notice details differently every year, as well! And…it’s always good to learn about our history, our religion and our culture!
OHHH…….!
It was Model Passover Seder time at CBJ Hebrew School last Sunday!!!
Our CBJ students and their parents and grandparents all came together to get ready for our Passover Seders with singing, storytelling, and simple explanations provided by our amazing Rabbi Sam!
We had beautiful Seder plates, put together by our wonderful CBJ parents, and our students learned the significance of all the symbolic foods that we eat on Passover.
By retelling the Passover story every year, our students are reminded of the important themes of Passover—slavery, freedom, tradition, and our deep connection to God who performed all the miracles through Moses and ultimately gave us our Torah.
By re-enacting the story, we experience that sense of freedom that our ancestors felt leaving Egypt, wandering in the desert for 40 years, and ultimately coming to the land of Israel.
We also had a FREE basket raffle this year, thanks to grandma Robin Weinbaum, who always creates the most beautiful baskets for our Hebrew School!
Sending best wishes for a meaningful, spiritual, fun and exciting Passover to all our CBJ families, our teachers and our congregants!
A Zissen Pesach!!!
All the best,
Principal Rob Schweitzer
