August 16th at 12pm -
Hear various members of Trinity share from a personal perspective why the ministry they do through Trinity is so meaningful for them and impactful for others. And learn how you can engage and support our various ministries—from choir and helping lead worship, to nuts and bolts operations and property management, leadership roles and financial support, and community ministries like Feeding with TLC and TICT.

Following worship, our Trinity family gathered for a special fellowship reception featuring a delicious catered lunch and an incredible spread of homemade desserts. Through thoughtful table conversations and meaningful questions, we enjoyed getting to know one another better and strengthening the connections that make our church community so special. This past Sunday, Pastor Stephanie and the Trinity family joyfully welcomed Vicar Jordan Baker and his fiancée, Cynthia Jones, to worship. The sanctuary was filled with the beautiful music of Lutheran composers Bach, Schütz, and Handel, led by Organist and Music Director Trent Whisenant. Our choir, joined by violinists, offered inspiring music that lifted hearts and voices in praise. What a beautiful morning of worship together!

“Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread and your earnings for that which does not satisfy,” Isaiah asks, as God’s prophetic mouthpiece. Why do we do that? Why do we spend our resources—our money, our time, our emotions—on things that do not satisfy? Because our wounds are deep, our longings are great, we want relief quickly, and we do not want to recognize that so many of the things we fill ourselves with—so many of the things that are sold to us for profit to try to fill us--are empty calories.

What are our wounds? They are manifold, from childhood hurts and losses of loved ones to injustices and indignities we suffer. What are our longings and needs? Love, connection, sense of belonging, sense of safety, sense of purpose, sense of meaning, sense of progress and setting things aright, sense of creating something, sense of achievement.

And how might we satisfy these longings and needs? Often, we turn to relationships, hopefully healthy ones with caring people. Sometimes we turn to harmful tools—substances, excesses, unhealthy relationships. Scripture tells us: if you are thirsty or hungry, if you have wounds to heal, and longings and needs, “Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” Come and drink from the love of God, the forgiveness of God, the strength of God, the wisdom of God, the vision of God, and the way of God.
