This past Sunday was a special celebration at State College Alliance Church. Our $6 million building expansion project is complete and fully paid off!

But as we gathered to give thanks, we were reminded of an important truth: this moment is a threshold, not a finish line.

Where did all of this come from? God.
Who made this possible? God.
Who does it really belong to? God.
Who do we live for? God.

We're not settling into what we've built. We're keeping our hearts oriented toward Him, available and ready for whatever He has next.

Every resource, every sacrifice, every yes along the way—it all came from His hand and belongs to Him.

Thank you to everyone who gave, prayed, and participated in this journey. Let's continue to trust God for what's ahead!

"Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your holy name comes from your hand and all of it belongs to you." - 1 Chronicles 29:16

Every kingdom advance starts with a human YES. 🙌

It's all God—His initiative, His power, His glory. But He invites us to participate. Your willing "yes" to Jesus matters more than you know.

What is God asking you to say yes to today?

"Keep these desires and thoughts in the hearts of your people forever and keep their hearts loyal to you." - 1 Chronicles 29:18

Life is built one "yes" at a time.

That small yes to help a neighbor. That costly yes to pursue a dream. That scary yes to step into the unknown.

Here's what we often miss: every yes prepares you for the next one.

Each time you say yes to something meaningful—even when it's uncomfortable, even when you can't see the outcome—you're building something inside yourself. Courage. Capacity. Confidence for what's ahead.

King David saw this pattern clearly: "Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand." (1 Chronicles 29:14) He understood that our small acts of faith and generosity aren't isolated moments—they're training ground for the bigger things to come.

Think about your own story:
• That first time you volunteered
• That moment you chose generosity over security
• That leap you took when logic said to play it safe

Didn't those yeses make the next ones a little easier? Didn't they change something in you?

The question isn't whether you're ready for the big adventure. The question is: will you say yes to what's in front of you today?

Because that yes—that one right there—is building faith for what's next.

What's one "yes" you're considering right now? đź’

Job asked the question we all eventually face: "Who will stand between me and God?"

We often start with surface-level questions—How do I improve myself? How do I become successful? How do I escape suffering? But when we dig deeper, we arrive at the most important question of all: Who can bring me to God?

The gospel answers with beautiful clarity: There is one mediator between God and mankind—Jesus Christ.

You don't have to bridge the gap on your own. Jesus has already done it.

"For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus." - 1 Timothy 2:5

On this Memorial Day, as we honor those who gave their lives in service, many of us are also remembering personal loss—loved ones who served, sacrifices made, questions that linger.

When everything's going well, certain questions just don't come up.

But pain—and loss—have a way of bringing things into focus. Questions we didn't know we were carrying. Doubts we could ignore when life felt manageable. Longings we could distract ourselves from when the sun was shining.

Job discovered this. In the middle of unimaginable loss, he started wrestling with questions about God, justice, and meaning that he probably never considered when life was "up and to the right."

Here's the thing: wrestling isn't failure. It's not a sign your faith is weak or that you're doing something wrong.

Sometimes the deepest, most honest parts of our faith only emerge when we're forced to test what we actually believe—not just what we say we believe.

Today, as we remember and honor sacrifice, maybe we can also give ourselves permission to wrestle with the hard questions that loss brings.

If you're in a season of wrestling right now, you're not alone. And you're not failing. You're human.

We have a God who comes alongside of you and weeps with you in your suffering. Jesus both knows and He cares.

When suffering comes, you will have a choice: Will you run away from God in your pain, or will you bring your honest lament to Him and trust Him in it?

God can handle your raw, honest prayers. He doesn't want you to run from Him—He invites you to run toward Him with everything you're feeling.

"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." - Psalm 34:18 đź’™

Job's friends said the wrong things at the wrong time. But Jesus is the better friend.

He doesn't try to explain away your suffering—He enters into it with you. Jesus knows suffering. He knows lament. And He weeps with you.

You don't have a distant God on a throne—you have a Savior who is "acquainted with grief" (Isaiah 53:3) and walks alongside you in your pain.

Whatever you're facing today, bring it to Him. He can handle your honest prayers. 🙏
