We have had several people asking about the Hilley Family Reunion and Starting it back up! We had to cancel one year back during the Covid days and we could never seem to recover the numbers after that! I would like to hear from some more of the Hilley Cousins on this matter! I have no problem starting it back if we can get a decent amount of Cousin to make the commitment! Lets have a discussion! Please Comment below your thought and we will go from there!

We are sad to report that a very Special Hilley Cousin has passed away! Ann Holloman was a key figure in all the research and hard work and money that went into the Hilley Cousins Books! She was a firm believer in keeping up with the Hilley Family History and Genealogical Information! The entire Hilley Family and all the Hilley Cousins owe her a debt of gratitude and she certainly will be missed by all of us! We have included the Viewing/Visitation and Funeral information sent to us by her daughter below. Please keep Ann's Family in your thoughts and Prayers!

What are your new and fresh ideas for increasing Family participation on this page? We have tried “Get to know your Cousins” videos, articles, old photos etc. The interaction from most of our Hilley cousins is minimal at best. We have already stopped the in person yearly Family Reunion due to lack of people not wanting to be involved. I would hate to have to lose this resource as well. We also lost a great website that had been around for years not too long ago (hilleycousins.com). This could be as big and as great as you want it to be, but it takes Family members WANTING to be involved. I am open to ALL ideas and Suggestions!

We Will NOT be having the Annual Hilley Family Reunion this year! To be honest the cost of having it has went up and the attendance has fell off drastically. The last couple of years we have had several core members pass away or gotten sick. Every year we have dozens of people promise to come and every year they don't show up. It is a shame to lose such a valuable long running event. However, it doesn't make sense to hold it every year for the same handful of cousins that see each other regularly. Obviously, the pandemic hurt last year but people had already lost interest the previous year! We tried to make accommodations and changes based on the wants and needs of the cousins but you can't keep everyone happy. I am open to ideas and discussions of alternatives or other ways to keep this Family connection alive but it is going to take some commitments from some of the cousins! We have fought for years to bring younger people in and have failed at that. Open to suggestions and discussions!

We have officially decided to cancel the Annual Hilley Family Reunion for this year! Due to Covid-19, different state and local requirements and the fact that a lot of our family members that regularly come are elderly it seems the safe thing to do. The decision was finalized after speaking with several different founding members and getting everyone's input. This is NOT something we wanted to do but it is what is best for the health and safety of our older family members. We DO NOT want this reunion to die! We WILL resume our Annual Hilley Family Reunion Next year once this pandemic is behind us! I would encourage everyone to PLEASE start using this page more. We need to work on growth, and bringing our large extended family closer together! A lot of you are not very vocal or outspoken. I am still missing probably a dozen videos from people that said they would do a video for our "Getting to know your Hilley Cousins" series! I do appreciate the ones that have done theirs already! Obviously, we would love to hear from more of you in the form of your introduction video! Please set your reminders and DO NOT Forget to plan on coming back in 2021. We need to keep this Reunion going for the our children, to honor those that put so much work into it and to continue to grow as a large extended family. I can post and talk and come up with new ideas all the time but it doesn't work without YOU!
