Pastors: If your congregation is loyal to you and you only they won’t be for long, because you are going to say or do something that’s going to upset them. If they are loyal to God they will overlook your imperfections, because they know that you are a human like everyone else. Put no trust in people who only want to hear you preach and think that you are the epitome of gospel preaching and teaching. Both you and they will eventually be sadly disappointed. “Flattery is the food for fools.” ~ Unknown. Ps. 146:2-4 I will praise him as long as I live, yes, even with my dying breath. 3 Don’t look to men for help; their greatest leaders fail; 4 for every man must die. His breathing stops, life ends, and in a moment all he planned for himself is ended. (TLB)

Look in your closet, is it cluttered and j***y? This is what happened. The last time you cleaned it you arranged everything just like you wanted it. Dresses/suits, shirts/blouses were put in order according to colors. Shoes were matched and aligned, and hats were organized on the top shelves. It was picture perfect. But one night you came in tired, pulled off an outfit and just threw it in, and promised yourself that you would put it in place the next day, which never happened. After several of these tired nights, you discovered that your closet was just like it was before you cleaned it. The same thing can happen with life. Hurting someone’s feelings without apologizing, a missed Sunday from worship, going a whole day without prayer, replacing personal Bible study time with social media… It’s the small things left unattended that will ultimately clutter your life. Pay close attention to the small things before they become a problem. “It’s not the towering mountain before a traveler that wearies him but the pebble in his shoe.” `Unknown

Ever wondered why you see so many dead deer on the side of the road? It is because once they start in one direction, they will not stop and turn around. They have an instinct which tells them that they can outrun any danger that’s threatening them. They see other dead family members and friends rotting on the shoulder of the road, but they never learn from it. How wrong they are. And how wrong we are when we won’t stop and turn around when we see those who have gone before us who have been struck down by dangers that they thought they could allude. What killed others will kill us if we don’t turn around. All of us have been headed in the wrong direction at one point, but thank God He allows U-turns. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Be big enough to admit and admire the abilities of people who are better at doing something than you. There’s no room for jealousy in the Kingdom, when one of us succeeds, all of us succeed. Nothing destroys ministry faster than a jealous Christian. Instead of letting their light shine, some people spend their time trying to put out the light of others. Be an encourager, learn to promote, push and prompt others to do their best, and God will bless you. Love looks through a telescope, jealousy looks through a microscope. James 3:13-1613 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15 Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
