Brothers,

This note is a little late, but I wanted to report that we had a fantastic Trivia Night last Tuesday. We had approximately 70 participants and took in $2,000 that evening, including a $1,000 donation at the event. An anonymous donor has also donated an additional $1,000, bringing our total to $3,000! The Starkville Pregnancy Center is very appreciative!

A big shout out to Ben Bachman for all his work to organize and come up with a great program, the Ladles Auxiliary for partnering, and all the brothers who helped make the event a success, including:

In less than a month, our Mississippi State Bulldogs will kick off the 2025 SEC football season against Southern Miss. As in previous years, Saint Joseph’s Knights of Columbus will continue their MSU Football Pool Fundraiser, with all proceeds supporting our church programs and local community.

Squares remain just $20 each and cover all 12 SEC games. Reservations are now open, with payments to be collected at a later date via cash, check, or our secure Square account.

From our Grand Knight, Mike Taquino:

Brothers,

I wanted to make you aware of opportunities to get involved in the month of October, and a couple of schedule changes.

Our new member Exemplification has been moved to Sunday, October 13th after the 11:30 Mass. Due to scheduling conflicts, it will not be held after this Sunday’s Mass.

Our October business meeting, which usually occurs on the second Thursday of every month, will be moved to Thursday, October 17th so as to not conflict with fall break schedules.

Also, there are other great opportunities to serve coming up in October, including:

Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, October 6th. Prep starts around 7:00 AM.

October is the month of the Rosary. We will be leading a Rosary each Sunday of the month at 8:30 and 11:00, before the beginning of Mass. Please reach out if you would like to participate.

The KC Silver Rose Program will be on Thursday, October 15th at the 5:30 Mass. Please make plans to come out and participate. Each year, from early March through mid-December, Silver Roses are stewarded by Knights of Columbus councils along routes from Canada to Mexico. Every stop the Silver Rose makes throughout the pilgrimage is a rosary-centered occasion for Knights, parishioners and community members to pray for respect for life, for the spiritual renewal of each nation, and for the advancement of the message of Our Lady of Guadalupe. More information can be found in this Sunday’s bulletin.

We will be hosting a Trivia Night on Tuesday, October 29th, starting around 6:30. All proceeds from this event, led by Ben Bachman, will go to support the Starkville Pregnancy Center. This event is a lot of fun and has been a real hit with the Parish, so make plans to attend. Please reach out if you would like to help.
