Brothers,
Our Council has a wonderful opportunity to put our faith into action by serving some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
Each month, our Food Pantry delivers food bags to homebound patrons who are unable to come to the pantry. As their numbers continue to grow, we are finding it increasingly difficult to keep up with the demand, and we need additional volunteer drivers.
The commitment is modest—about one hour once a month. Deliveries can be made on a weekend, at your convenience, and the patrons assigned to each driver typically live in the same neighborhood, making the route convenient and efficient.
As Knights of Columbus, we are called to live our principles of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity. Delivering food to those in need is a tangible way to answer Christ's call: "For I was hungry and you gave me food." (Matthew 25:35)
For the homebound, your visit often means more than just receiving groceries. It is a reminder that they are not forgotten and that their parish community cares for them.
