What is the most marvelous work of God?
The beauty of the Grand Canyon? The countless stars stretching across the night sky? The miracle of holding a newborn child?
As incredible as these things are, God's greatest work is something even more extraordinary.
He sent His only Son to be our Savior.
Jesus became what He was not without ceasing to be what He was, all so that we could be made right with God.
Of all the wonders of creation, nothing compares to the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. It's the marvelous work of God that never loses its beauty and continually satisfies our souls.

WE’RE STARTING FRESH WITH TEXT UPDATES!

We have a new church wide texting system and everyone is starting fresh. That means even if you’ve received text messages from First Baptist Starkville in the past, you’ll need to opt in to our new system if you’d like to continue receiving important church wide updates.

And don’t worry, we’re not planning to fill up your phone every week. We simply want a quick way to reach our church family when there’s something you really need to know like: Inclement weather or schedule changes, reminders about major church wide events and other timely information affecting our church family.

Seven trips. One place she keeps going back to.

Lana Hamby first traveled with her family to Victoria, British Columbia, in 2016. She remembers being struck by two things: how incredibly beautiful it was, and how spiritually dark it felt.

She has now served there seven times. What makes her keep returning?

“The place and the people,” Lana says. “There are so many who have never heard of Jesus."

The numbers help tell what Lana has witnessed. According to Canada's 2021 Census, 63.4% of Victoria residents reported no religion or a secular perspective. That's why year after year, our FBC Starkville team partners with Canvas Church through a children's basketball camp, building relationships with kids and families and creating opportunities to share the Gospel.

Lana has watched Canvas grow since those early trips. But she knows the work isn't finished. And that's why she keeps going back.

This is what it looks like to Live Sent: ordinary people willing to go, build relationships and share Jesus wherever God opens the door.

Do you sing? Do you listen while everybody else sings? Maybe life has given you a season when finding your voice has been harder than it used to be.

There's something powerful about hearing a room full of ordinary people sing the same truth together. We just started a new sermon series walking through Psalms 95–98 called 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑈𝑛𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑠ℎ𝑒𝑑 𝑆𝑜𝑛𝑔. it begins with a simple invitation: “Come, let us sing…”

We hope you will join us this Sunday as we find our voice: 8:00, 9:30 or 11:00 AM.

A shoebox may seem small. But in the hands of God, it can carry the Gospel around the world. 🌎❤️

Through Operation Christmas Child, simple shoebox gifts are opening doors for evangelism, discipleship, and the growth of churches in communities around the world. Each box is an opportunity for a child to receive not only a gift, but to hear the Good News of Jesus.

Watch this short video and see the real lives being impacted through something as simple as filling a shoebox.

And we’d love for you to be part of it! We are currently collecting items for Operation Christmas Child, and you do not have to be a member of First Baptist Starkville to participate. This is a worldwide effort to reach children, including those in remote villages, with the hope of Jesus, and there’s room for all of us to help.

Sunday morning isn't only what happens from the platform.

Sometimes church looks like someone remembering your name. A friendly conversation in the hallway. An unexpected saved seat. Someone asking how your week really went and being genuinely interested in the answer. Or perhaps a prayer offered quietly when nobody else is watching.

We gather to worship Jesus every week and by HIs grace, we learn to become the body of Christ for each other. That's one of our favorite parts of Sunday at First Baptist. If you are looking for a faith-based family, we'd love to introduce you to ours. We are here every Sunday at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00. We invite you to join us.

Before they can read the Bible for themselves, we're already telling them what is true: "God made you. God loves you. Jesus is alive!"

On Sunday mornings, those truths are being planted in some of the littlest hearts at First Baptist Starkville. Sometimes it looks like a Bible story. Sometimes it's a song. Sometimes it's crayons, blocks, playtime and a teacher kneeling down to listen to a very important preschool story. But underneath all of it is something we take very seriously: helping children know from their earliest days that they are deeply loved by God. And we're grateful for every parent who trusts us to be one small part of building that foundation.

If you are a parent with a desire to train up your child in the ways of the Lord, we'd love to come along side you in support. We hope you will join us on Sunday mornings at 8:00, 9:30 or 11:00 and Wednesday nights at 6pm.
