First Baptist Starkville

First Baptist Starkville We live sent by following Jesus and inviting others to come along! First Baptist is an autonomus church under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

FBC Starkville is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention as well as the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board and the Golden Triangle Baptist Association. He purchased the church with his death on the Cross. He owns the church and directs the church through the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We cooperate with the aforementioned groups (SBC, MBCB, GTBA) because we recognize the value of associa

ting and partnering with other like-minded churches in accomplishing the Great Commission in Matthew 28.

An Offering of Worship

During the month of September, you’ll notice the offering plate returning to our worship services. But it’s not really about the plate, or about the money. It’s about discipleship.

For generations, children watched their parents and grandparents give each Sunday and learned something important: giving is an act of worship. While we’re thankful for the digital convenience of giving, it means younger generations may never actually see the people they love practice generosity. Therefore, it is our hope passing the plate will create a visible teaching moment for families—a chance to show the next generation that giving is one of the ways we worship God.

For your convenience, online giving and giving boxes aren’t going anywhere. The plate is simply another opportunity to make our worship visible to the next generation. Because sometimes discipleship happens through what we teach—and sometimes through what they see us do.

Happy Labor Day!

Before there was a federal holiday, there was the story of God resting after creating. Work was never a curse, and rest was never merely a reward. Both are God's gift to us. We hope you have a wonderful day of rest today and are refreshed for the week ahead.

🎨 COLOR. CHAOS. AND A WHOLE LOT OF FUN.
Our FBC Kids had an absolute BLAST at Color Frenzy last night! From head to toe, these kids made some pretty colorful memories together.
But Wednesday nights at First Baptist are about more than having fun. They’re about helping kids build friendships, grow in their faith, and learn what it looks like to walk with Jesus every day. If you’re looking for a place where your kids can belong, come check out FBC Kids on Wednesday nights at 6 PM! There’s always room for one more.

🇩🇪 LIVE SENT: HAMBURG, GERMANY

This December, a team from First Baptist will travel to Hamburg, Germany, to come alongside IMB missionaries and local ministry partners as they share the hope of Jesus in their city.

Our team will serve through outreach at Hamburg’s Christmas markets, prayer walking throughout the city, sharing the Gospel in strategic neighborhoods, exploring areas where new ministry opportunities are developing, and assisting with local ministry projects.

This isn’t simply a trip to Germany. It’s an opportunity to Live Sent—taking the Gospel beyond our walls and across the world. There’s still time to be part of the team! Registration is open through September 13. Learn more about the mission, dates, registration, and full team details at fbcstarkville.com.

Last week’s College Grocery Games was a WIN! 🛒🏆

We gave away more than $600 in free groceries and gift cards to our college students—and judging by these smiling faces, we had a whole lot of fun doing it!

But here’s the thing: the groceries aren’t really the biggest prize. At FBC Starkville, we love creating fun reasons for college students to get together, but what we really want to create is a place to belong—where genuine friendships are formed, students encourage one another, and they can explore what it looks like to walk more deeply with Christ alongside others who are doing the same.
That’s the real win.

Our next College Grocery Games is October 2, but trust us—you don’t want to wait until then! We have plenty happening between now and October. Follow on Instagram and come be part of it. There’s a place for you here!

Ladies, if you’ve been looking for a way to meet other women, build genuine friendships, and find deeper connection within the body of Christ, this is a wonderful place to start.

Stitched with Grace is being created with that very purpose in mind—bringing women of all ages and stages together around the table for an evening of fellowship, encouragement, laughter and a reminder of the beautiful ways God stitches our lives together.

But we need YOU to help us make it special!

Take a minute to watch this video from three of the women helping spearhead the event. They’ll tell you a little more about what we’re planning—and how you can be part of making the evening a success.
