Montgomery Center sits on 167 acres of beautiful Central Florida country. Montgomery has many amenities that range from meeting rooms for 10 all the way to 150 people, group lodges for 16 to 40 with kitchen to cook your own food, and cabins and hotel rooms that can sleep up to 130 people. Montgomery also has a large kitchen with a full staff that will cook amazing food, far removed from the old "camp food" you ate as a kid. With 3 lakes there are many different water activities including sailing, skiing, tubing, wake boarding, canoeing, and swimming. A large Low Ropes and High Ropes area allow for in depth team building lead by our trained facilitators. An archery range lets you shoot off some of your stress. And large activity fields and campfire rings make Montgomery a perfect spot for your group to relax. Whether you are looking to bring your youth group out, family vacation or reunion, corporate training event, mission trip pre-trip, sports team, group that needs team building, or a place to come to Summer Camp, Montgomery has something for you.

Talk about as WILD ride!!

Put a Pontiac 326 next to a Pontiac 455 and you will struggle to tell them apart.

Same external dimensions. Same bellhousing. Same motor mounts. Same accessory brackets. Roughly the same weight. The only real difference is how much metal was left inside when the machining was done.

That is not how anyone else did it.

Chevrolet, Ford and Chrysler all ran two separate families. A small-block for ordinary cars and a big-block for performance, with different blocks, different heads, different weights and almost no shared parts. Choosing the big engine meant a heavier car, a different chassis brace, sometimes a different bonnet.

Pontiac decided that was a waste and built one V8 family for everything.

The consequences are enormous and most people never think about them.

A Pontiac engineer could put a 400 into a Firebird without redesigning the front end, because it took up no more room than the 326 the car was engineered around. The weight distribution barely moved. The Ram Air versions went in the same way.

It also means the whole range shares parts. Heads from one engine fit another. The aftermarket only had to support one architecture, which is why Pontiac parts are still comparatively easy to find.

And there is a catch, which Pontiac people know well. One block means one set of limits. There is no taller deck or wider bore spacing to escape to, so a Pontiac that wants more than 455 cubic inches has to find them inside the same casting.

The 400 used a 4.12 inch bore and a 3.75 inch stroke and ran from 1967 into the late seventies.

One engine family, from the base car to the GTO.

🍂 **FALL FESTIVAL CANCELED** 🍂

Due to the incoming tropical storm and expected weather conditions, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Fall Festival scheduled for Saturday, October 10.

The safety of our guests, vendors, and staff is our top priority. We’re disappointed we won’t get to celebrate with everyone this year, but we appreciate your understanding!

Please stay safe, everyone, and keep an eye out for future events at Montgomery Center. 🧡🎃

🎶 Music Ministry Monday!

A familiar hymn can bring back a memory. A new song can give us words for something we’ve struggled to express. And singing together can remind us that we belong.

What hymn or worship song has stayed with you through the years? Tell us in the comments—we’d love to hear the story behind it.

🧱 You know your kid is ready for camp when he builds his own.

There’s a climbing wall, an archery range, Obi-Wan Kenobi driving BTB, Spider-Man on lifeguard duty, and a peacock sharing a meal with Rocket in the dining hall. This camp welcomes quite the crowd! 😂

I think this creative camper is trying to tell me something!

Thankfully, he doesn’t have to wait until summer 2027. ❄️ Next stop: Winter Camp!
