Cominskie Family Approved by NAM to Plant Work in Skokie, IL
NAM is pleased to announce the approval of our newest church planters – Devin and Victoria Cominskie. The Cominskies will serve as lead planters at Living Hope FWB Church in Skokie, IL.
Living Hope Church is a joint church plant project between the Illinois FWB Mission Board and North American Ministries. The Cominskies are thankful for Faith FWB Church in Goldsboro, NC, and Dr. Daniel Mann for starting the work in Skokie and continuing to support Living Hope Church.
Originally from Virginia Beach, VA, Devin has a B.A. in missions from Southeastern FWB College and an M.A. in ministry and theology from Welch College. Victoria is from Muncie, IN, and has a B.A. in secondary education from Southeastern FWB College. Previously, the Cominskies spent 9 years in ministry at Anchor FWB Church in Jacksonville, NC, where Devin served as youth and music pastor, and Victoria taught in the Christian school. The Cominskies have four children - Nova, Judson, Selah, and Elliott.
The village of Skokie, IL, is located immediately north of Chicago in Cook County. Skokie has a population of 70,000 and fewer than 10 evangelical churches. The spiritual need in Skokie is great, and the laborers are few. Skokie is one of the most diverse Chicago suburbs, where 40% of people are foreign-born, 30% are Jewish, 30% are Assyrian, and only 50% of households speak English at home, with the remainder speaking over 90 different languages. This presents Living Hope Church with a unique opportunity to reach the world from their home community.
