We welcome all persons who seek to deepen their relationship and journey with God in an atmosphere of prayer, respect and hospitality. Established in 2005, Our Lady Queen of Peace Retreat Center is the result of Bishop J. Eileen Fucito, C.P., and Sr. Anna Marie Becker, C.P., bring to life the Passionist Charism. In the tradition of St. Paul of the Cross and Elizabeth Prout (founders of the Passion

ist communities of men and women), they recognize the Passion of Jesus as the "greatest work of divine Love" and the revelation of the power of the resurrection to overcome the forces of evil. The Passionist Charism embraces suffering and connects with God in the midst of pain. Like St. Paul the Apostle (1 Corinthians), Passionists preach Christ and Him Crucified. They see the Passion of Christ in the suffering of the world. Passionists make the Paschal Mystery the center of their lives. Our Lady Queen of Peace Retreat Center in Dancyville, Tennessee exists as a place where all of God's people, young and old, can come to be refreshed. The quiet atmosphere allows God to be heard speaking to each person. Recharging and reconnecting with God, listening and hearing His voice, and deepening your spirituality will renew your life - your family - and your community.

“If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” -Psalm 95

As we prepare for Sunday, the readings invite us to listen, to God and to one another.

In a world filled with noise, listening requires something from us. We have to slow down. We have to make room. We have to quiet our own thoughts long enough to recognize the voice of the Lord.

And in Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that faith is not lived alone:

“Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

May this weekend offer each of us a little space to listen more closely, love more generously, and recognize Christ in our midst.

What is sacred art?

Sacred art is more than something beautiful to look at. For centuries, the Church has used paintings, icons, sculpture, architecture, and other forms of beauty to help draw our hearts and minds toward God.

Sacred art can help make the Gospel tangible. It invites us to slow down, contemplate the mysteries of our faith, and encounter familiar stories in a new way.

As the Catechism teaches, sacred images are meant to “awaken and nourish our faith in the mystery of Christ.”

That is part of what makes sacred art such a powerful aid to prayer—and why it plays an important role in Visio Divina, the practice of prayerfully encountering God through an image.

Many blessings and congratulations to our Diocese’s latest Cursillo Men’s group—Class #141. These past few days, August 20-23, was a beautiful Catholic experience and journey for these men at our majestic, 140-acre Our Lady Queen of Peace Retreat Center. Come Holy Spirit…De Colores!

Cursillo is a movement of our Church that promotes Catholic ideals, fellowship, and spiritual growth in daily living. It provides an opportunity to deepen a person’s Catholic faith and to experience the Love of God in a supportive community-Piety, Study, Action.
