Have you ever felt unsatisfied with how close you are to God? Have you longed for more of His presence—more of His voice, His peace, His abundance? Join me for five days as we journey through Isaiah 55 and discover what it truly means to dwell where God lives.

Day 1 – The Invitation to Come

Scripture:
“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.”
— Isaiah 55:1 (KJV)

Reflection:
God begins with an open invitation: “Come.” It’s not for the qualified, the wealthy, or the worthy—it’s for everyone who thirsts. The Lord knows our hunger, our weariness, and our dissatisfaction with the shallow wells of this world. Many of us have spent far too long drinking from sources that never satisfy. Yet the Father calls us to His table, offering living water that costs us nothing but our willingness to come.

Application:
Today, make space to respond to His invitation. Step away from distractions that dull your hunger for Him. Ask yourself: What wells have I been drawing from that leave me empty? Then come to God in prayer and repentance, ready to drink deeply of His presence.

Prayer:
Lord, I come to You thirsty and tired of substitutes. Fill me again with Your Spirit. Teach me to find my satisfaction only in You. Amen.

Simple Stewardship

Day 5 – The Talents Test
Scripture: “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them.” (Matthew 25:14, NKJV)

Reflection:
The parable of the talents reminds us that stewardship is not about what we don’t have, but about what we do. One servant had five talents, another two, another one. Each was entrusted according to ability. The faithful servants invested; the fearful servant buried his.
God doesn’t measure us by comparison but by faithfulness. He asks, “What did you do with what I entrusted to you?” Faithful stewardship multiplies blessing; neglect wastes opportunity.

Application:
What talent, skill, or opportunity has God placed in your hands? Instead of burying it in fear or distraction, how can you invest it in His kingdom this week?

Prayer:
Lord, I don’t want to bury what You’ve given me. Give me courage to step out in faith, wisdom to use my gifts well, and diligence to invest in Your kingdom. Amen.

If you are seeing this, Today is the day of Salvation. We are all sinners; we have all fallen short of the mark. The bible tells us that the "wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life".
Left to our own devices, we will one day stand before a just God. A God of righteousness, a God who does not make mistakes. God's righteousness is pure and holy. Our righteousness is not. What the bible tells us is that ours is like "filthy rags" by comparison.
The Word of God tells us that despite who we are, who we have been, and what we have done, "while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Finally, the bible tells us that it does not matter who we are, American, Jew, Greek, Muslim, you name it, God makes no distinction, except one, we must call on the name of Jesus to be saved!
Repent, confess your sins before a loving, just, righteous God, and through the shed blood of Jesus, be redeemed!

Day 3 — The Lost: The Broken by Sin

Scripture:
“Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”
(Luke 7:47 NKJV)

Reflection:
The crowd saw a sinner. They whispered and judged as the woman wept at Jesus’ feet. But while others saw shame, Jesus saw repentance. Her love poured out in tears and devotion revealed a heart ready for grace.

We live among people crushed by their past — maybe even we feel crushed ourselves at times. Jesus came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). He does not shame the broken — He restores them. And those who know the depth of His forgiveness live with deep gratitude and love.

Prayer Prompt:
“Lord Jesus, thank You for forgiving me much. Help me never forget the weight You lifted from me. Teach me to extend that same grace to those around me, that they may know Your love.”

More to come!

Day 2 — The Last: The Outcasts

Scripture:
“When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, ‘Do not weep.’ Then He came and touched the open coffin
And He said, ‘Young man, I say to you, arise.’”
(Luke 7:13–14 NKJV)

Reflection:
Death was avoided in Jewish culture — it carried sorrow and uncleanness. Yet Jesus walked straight into the widow’s grief. He touched what others would never touch, and He restored life where there was only despair.

We live in a world full of “untouchables” — the overlooked, the avoided, the forgotten. Society steps away, but Jesus steps near. His compassion calls us to do the same. To see the hurting, the grieving, the isolated — and to bring them hope in His name.

Prayer Prompt:
“Jesus, give me Your eyes to see those who are hurting and Your heart to draw near. Teach me not to avoid the broken places, but to carry Your life and light into them.

More to come.

Hello, everyone I am in the process of a new personal project. It is something i've been thinking about quietly for the last few years. As many of you know I i'm the pastor of the lighthouse of faith and worship, in stanton michigan. Since I began pastoring.
I will say full time in two thousand fifteen I have been keeping all of my notes from my sermons. In light of what's been going on in my personal life dealing with my health.I thought now would be a better time than any to begin this project. And I thought I would give you a taste of what i've been working on. What I am attempting to do is to use my sermon notes to build a book of daily devotions.I don't know how to go about getting it published. But I am going to effort in that direction. I will be posting this over at our church's web page.As well.

Please tell me what you think and feel free to share. In fact, I would love it if you did.

Three-Day Devotional: The Least, The Last, and The Lost

---

Day 1 — The Least: The Undeserving

Scripture:
“For He loves our nation, and has built us a synagogue.”
When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said
“I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!”
(Luke 7:5, 9 NKJV)

Reflection:
The Roman centurion was an occupier, part of the enemy force. By all human standards, he did not deserve mercy. Yet Jesus did not see an enemy — He saw faith. The man’s humility (“I am not worthy
but say the word”) revealed a heart that trusted in Christ’s authority.

How often do we write someone off because they seem undeserving? Maybe they’ve wronged us, live in opposition to our values, or carry power we distrust. Yet Jesus reminds us: grace is not about who deserves it — it’s about who believes.

Prayer Prompt:
“Lord, help me to see people the way You do — not as enemies or rivals, but as souls who need Your mercy. Give me faith like the centurion, trusting Your word above all else.”
